OKAY MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE OF THE SEIYUU FACTOR BUT I AM HOT FOR HIM TOO! XD HE'S ONE OF THE AWESOMEST CHARACTER EVER AND OMG YAY YAKITATE SECRETS x2 IN A DAY!

SEIYUU YES. I was afraid that was the only reason for a while (TOMOKAZU SEKI IS MY IDOL) but I think I am smitten with the psycho clown himself. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I THINK I LOVE YOU. I hated him too.

I wrote 18, and I agree somewhat about Maureen. I don't know why the fuck I identified w/ her; just sharing w/ that other person what happened to me so they wouldn't feel alone so much, you know? I like Idina, but not so much Maureen.

And yeah, brilliant that someone did a huge rent bitchout right before my secret went up but after I submitted it. *rolls eyes*

[identity profile] demyx.livejournal.com 2007-08-11 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
17. :D I love that pairing. But there's hardly any fanwork I can find of it dskjdkjash but it's kinda hot and creepy at the same time.

I wish I had a good Marluxia to RP it with, but... they're all into yaoi. :[ Well, except the one, but she plays Riku Replica at the RP I'm the Nam in and that's good enough for me, heee. 8D

18 - Poster of the original secret here - I'm so glad I'm not the only one! And I sympathize with the homophobic friends/relatives. ♥ Best of Luck to you!

Oh, good! I'm so glad you saw it! I was hoping you would and that you'd comment. Good luck to you, too! *hug*

5. I don't know about Bleach and Naruto, but FMA is only 51 episodes long, certainly not 100+, and although it has its fair share of filler, it certainly doesn't account for most of it. If you're going to diss anime you arbitrarily hold disdain for, do your homework first. :)

I discovered Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim--my first serious anime and still my all-time favorite--and I'll never forget it and never look down on people who watch broadcasted anime because of it. Let people like what they like, geez.

[identity profile] linen-tartaruga.livejournal.com 2007-08-11 05:58 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! And not only is it only 51 episodes, even though some of the content is filler, there's only around one episode that actually doesn't contribute significantly to the plot. And even then it gives love to characters that we rarely get to see too much of, so why complain? Just because it's popular doesn't automatically mean it's bad. Sometimes it just means that it's really really good.

Ooooh, Cowboy Bebop. My favorite anime soundtrack of all anime soundtracks thus far and just a great show overall.

LOL. Has the thought that some people got into those without the intention of jumping on the bandwagon EVER crossed your mind? Seriously, get over your obscure fandom preferences. Not everyone has access to anime outside of Adult Swim either.

[identity profile] lostremnant.livejournal.com 2007-08-11 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
5. Hey I'd love to watch the more obscure anime. Want to give me the money to rent/buy them?

12. Beast Wars is my favorite of the Transformer series. Don't like it? Tough.

1. There are much, much worse videos on Youtube. Ever heard of applemilk1988?
2. lol poseurs.
5. Have you EVER thought of the possibility that not all people have the same income? Some are lucky just to be able to afford cable at all. And when they do watch Adult Swim/whatever, they ENJOY it. I'm sorry if you feel that way if people cannot devote themselves to series like you can, but that's the way things are.
7. Do you have a reason? XD
9. I've always been bored by this show. All signs point to [insert genetic spoilers], but they NEVER realize it until the end :< I like Heroes, 24, The Soup, and Prison Break. Well, not so much 24, it's just there because it's prime time?
15. Dude, you have a unique idea, why not create your own manga? You have so much time to write fanfics and fandomsecrets, you mind as well devote your time to creating something beneficial... (I couldn't type that with a straight face)

I can't say that I discovered I was lesbian through a fandom, but fandoms have a tendency to let the truth come out. Like, after getting into Rent was the only time I felt okay about letting my orientation really show.
I have a girlfriend now, and even though my parents still don't know, but all my friends do, I'm the happiest I've ever been.

[identity profile] mirwolf.livejournal.com 2007-08-11 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
Heheh. You're not alone on this one. I can't help but wish that there was something deeper and more exciting going on life than there is.

Meh, you're a slave to money and then you die. That's how life works. S'pose the daydreaming just makes it that bit more enjoyable, amirite?

3. I couldn't even get into His Dark Materials. I tried starting the first book at least twice, but the beginning didn't pull me in at all.

5. Elitism aside, I'm a little amused that you're bashing shows like Bleach and FMA while touting Amon Saga as an example of "good anime", because that's one of the worst anime I've ever seen.

[identity profile] vizioso.livejournal.com 2007-08-11 04:39 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] samuraiter.livejournal.com 2007-08-11 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
5.) My Amon Saga DVD appreciates the love. :-) Thank you. It helps that I agree with the secret, too. I'm getting worse, though. Now, most times, when I watch anime, it's something imported that won't ever come to the U.S. Well, that's partly because U.S. DVDs are so expensive, but it's also partly because fandoms that require extra effort (and E-Bay) to get into at all seem to attract a smaller number of asshats.

8.) I can agree with petting a kitty, too. That justifies many things.

11.) *stomach grumble*

16.) George?! In KH? ... Does not compute. ^_^;

#4 FTW!!!

[identity profile] willag.livejournal.com 2007-08-11 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Goodness gracious. So much wank and response for #5 when I thought it was #4 that took the cake. :/ It just goes to show that more people prefer bitching and jumping down other's backs for their haughty opinions rather than agreeing with a sensible response.

#4, thank you soooooo much! I really needed that. B/c while I tend to stay away from shipping wars, there have been times I've been tempted to show off my devotion. I used to when I was younger, and I thought I outgrew that, but I guess I haven't completely. This picture, however, really puts things into perspective.

And double the points to you for putting the name of the strip and the date!!! I am going to go find it right now so that I can put it on my computer... just in case I come across one of those moments again and I need a slap to the face.

You are the best! Yay for secrets that do some good!

I'm glad you enjoyed. Shortpacked is one of two webcomics I read regularly, precisely for the things like this it posts. I do admit, I added the strip name and date to hopefully entice others into reading it as well.

About the sometimes wanting to show your devotion -- I hear you. I started to get into an argument with a BNF* in one of my fandoms a while back, then two comments in went back, reread that comic a few times, and abruptly stopped commenting. Because even if I disagree with everything she said -- it's none of my business how she enjoys the anime.

* Having known a few in my time, I will be the first to say that being a BNF does NOT mean a person is an attention-whore, batshit obsessed with a series, or any of the other negative connotations that come with said title. They are just like any other fan, they just happen to be very charismatic while they're at it. ... THIS BNF, however, was a shining example of what gives them such a bad reputation.

Idina Menzel is amazing. I love the musical and the movie, and I'm glad your fandom is open and supportive. Hope your real life becomes less conflicted. ♥

7- LOL. I disagree, but am still amused.

18- What series is that from?

Number 5

[identity profile] liz-a-c.livejournal.com 2007-08-15 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, so you come off as a tad elitist. I mean, you did name drop a really obscure anime but it's understandable to feel that way.

It's okay to start with mainstream anime when you first start watching, but if you only ever watch mainstream anime, it makes anime sound like just a passing fad.

By the way, that's the exact reason that I have netflix. They don't have all the anime that has ever existed or anytyhing but they have a big selection and I've seen a lot of excellent anime that I wouldn't have been able to see otherwise.
