I agree. Bleach's problem is that it keeps adding on way too many characters rather than developing the ones that are there.

I lost interest in Bleach when the Soul Society arc started. I was much more interested in the human characters, especially the one you circled and whose name has slipped my mind.

Pretty much this :/. The Soul Society arc was the first thing in Bleach that actually caught my attention - I mean, the other characters were cute and all, but not something I would remember in more than a couple of months, and nothing different than other shonen.

I just don't get how anyone could complain about there not being enough coverage of that set of characters - it's a fantasy fighting manga/anime about a shinigami/human/hollow/ect hybrid teenager. The low powered/normal hs kids, and the hs drama that would come with them, are the least relevant and interesting characters to me.

I just want Bleach to have good story lines, I don't care who they involve. I would prefer they involve Soul Society personally, but I'd just settle for "good" at this point.

(Bleach has gone so downhill, and it makes me so sad.)

I actually liked quite a few Soul Society characters, but I agree with you on the Tatsuki thing! She's such a cool character, and I wish she had more screentime. (Though that probably has something to do with just how much I want Orihime/Tatsuki. That dragon and the princess chapter early in the series was awesome.)

I'm just waiting for Ishida to show up again. He should be deeply involved in the current arc but he's nowhere to be found.

What's Ishida doing these days? He's my favorite and I pretty much lost interest in Bleach after he was all but written out. Has he done anything at all recently?

Yeah, it's just gotten to the point where we have HEAPS of unresolved plot lines floating around, and Kubotite keeps introducing more. I mean, he clearly means to do something with Ichigo's friends - or he did, once, otherwise why have them developing powers and getting trouble because of them.

Instead, everything/everyone introduced in these last couple of arcs all seem to have focused on showing how Ichigo is the most unique and special snowflake ever who is the hero to save them all! and god have I had enough of stories like that.

I keep holding out this ridiculous hope that Ichigo will get curbstomped, and his human friends are somehow, through ingenuity and pluck and godmoding-Jackie Chan-meets-Home Alone-style use of their environment, manage to save his ass.

I gave up any hope of human!character development after the Hueco Mundo arc. Orihime had all this rich setup with Ulquiorra about weakness and heart, and then batman kills *~the man she loves~* and she has FINALLY had enough, uses her Supreme Fate-Defying Power to one-shot the boss, save Ichigo, remind him of his humanity, confess her love, and become a stronger person curls up in a useless ball of misogynistic crap and cries for somebody to save her WHAT.

I'm just happy we got to see Hanataro in the newest chapter.

Pretty much just clinging to Bleach to see what happens to my favorite characters at this point.

What ruined Bleach for some people?

For me it was mainly the pacing and unresolved plot lines. I also didn't want to see each and every single battle between ally and enemy. Especially when the fights consisted of gloating, explanation of techniques (idiotic), power levels!!1, one slash wins, and the whole "I'm behind you! Nuh UH-! I'M behind YOU!" technique. The enemy character development through flashbacks thing lost its luster long ago.

As much as I don't want to admit it, the overexposure of Orihime's very flawed character. At this point, I don't know if Kubo thinks we're suppose to like her or not. I mostly pity her for her gradual transformation into queen angsty pacifist moeblob.

Only the humans? I think everyone and their moms need character development. And Ichigo needs to stop powering up and being half shinigami/jesus/zombie/robot because it's getting really stupid now.

Arrancar were just rehashes of everything already done. It would have been better had they progressed with the Vizard and human characters instead. It was leading up to something good until it just became Soul Society 2.0.
