Upper middle... I'm pretty well off. I have noticed that it helps me in fandom. I've been able to fly around the continent for cons every year, spend rather freely on cosplay, get to meet celebs whose photo-ops are $40 each (ugh). But since I've started spending the money I make myself I've become way more careful about my spending... trying to give back to the parents now. :P

The anime isn't as good as the manga, imo, since they had to change a fair bit of the overall plot to make the anime work. The girls are still a little annoying, and Makona [the screechy thing] are still there, but they're toned down.

Haha, that's kind of how I use it too...but it usually becomes a timesuck. Actually a LOT of people use them to write stories (I don't know if it's still a thing, but the Legacy Challenge was huge a few years ago).

I don't really interact much anymore either, just to download things...but it's just another way you could possibly back up your creations.

Well, some of the time it's because people are a little too..forward about their kinks to people who aren't interested, to put it politely.

Urgh your last sentence...Roger Moore is probably one of my least favourite Bond eras and I think the trope "Bond sneaks into a bathroom/bedroom and basically helps himself" is part of that as it seems to happen in almost every Moore film. But Craig is probably one of my favourite Bonds, so that scene felt all kinds of weird for me.

I gotta be honest. Creepy? Yes. But it doesn't seem misogynist to me. Where is the sexist rhetoric? He says he has hit stalkers but that is not necessarily because they are women and vastly different from beating your girlfriend.

If the genders were switched in this case, female idol hitting ame cussing out a male stalker, when she is harassed daily by stalkers, would you feel as strongly or would the stalker have it coming?

I reaaally want it to be something like Irene being a British cop whose deductive skills were way better than Sherlock's, and the failure to be the smartest person in the room sent him into a burning spiral of drugs and alcohol that eventually ended in with Sherlock waking up in New York with no idea how he got there with an email on his phone from Irene telling him to stop being a drama queen.

Ah, that's terrible! I thankfully don't have that issue, but haven't watched it regardless. Loved Casino Royale but I started Quantum, wasn't feeling it (missed Eva Green too) and just never went back to it. I'll try to watch it anyway before Skyfall (for the pretty) but it's nice knowing that even if I don't get around to it that I should be okay.

Creepy, abusive, self-centered, but very good looking guy isn't a good romantic choice. 5,003,453th verse, same as the first. There's those shippers in every fandom.

No? I just made a comparison, I said nothing about intelligence. In Sherlock that part of her personality is showcased through her ability to know how to keep Sherlock off track, make him unable to read her, her interest in the way he solves his cases, and possibly how she made him help her at the very end. Also, I think, the way she handles her rather complicated life in general, up until the events of Scandal.

It's not as if following him in the original required unusual intelligence either! And she didn't suspect a thing until she realised she'd betrayed where she'd hid the photograph. Original Irene Adler had also been warned about him, even if it had been some months earlier.

Out of curiosity, is kid Loki wiped out completely, or could there be a trace of him left? (Like in Fred/Illyria's case on AtS, where Joss' plan, according to interviews, had been to let Fred bleed back in even though Illyria had said that Fred was gone for good.)

It's also worth mentioning that at no point in the entire media circus did Jaejoong or any of his management deny that he hit her. Their entire reaction basically boiled down to "Yeah, I did that, but THEY WERE SO MEAN TO ME, BE MAD AT THEM."

Which... Yeah. The saesangs aren't okay, no one who infringes upon someone else's personal space to that degree is even within sight of okay, but that at no point makes it okay to verbally and physically assault them in very specific and gendered ways.

I'm staying away from the class thread for a similar reason.

...oddly, people being happy with their bodies just makes me happy for them. :) But when people I think are pretty start talking about how much they hate their bodies, that's when I start getting depressed about my own.

They are only talking about certain features. I'm sure they have a lot of things they don't like. And I'm sure you can find one thing about yourself that you do like.

You really don't have to have seen the Quantum of Solace. I would say that someone who'd never seen *any* Bond film before would not get as much from Skyfall as someone familiar with the tropes of the franchise, but there is nothing plotwise that carries over directly from QoS aside from the characters of Bond and M.

And it's a very very good film, whereas QoS wasn't.

Off the top of my head: sometimes it has to do with the uniform (police officers, military), sometimes it has to do with the inherent power (CEOs, politicians), sometimes it has to do with saving lives (firefighters, doctors).

He's being all Bondish and very cool, and not bothered at all by Bardem caressing him and coming on to him. Then Bardem says something about how it will be Bond's first time and he just raises his eyebrow and says what makes you think it will be my first time?

Oh god, I hope you're right because that's BEAUTIFUL. -new head-canon accepted- I never would've expected a joke with implications like that in a Bond movie, so this makes me twice as excited.

I grew up in an odd mix of lower class and working class, I've never had a lot of money, but not like I didn't have what most of the others my age had.

I myself though is quite poor since I'm a student, so I can't really afford anything, let alone new books/games/dvds. And I'm doing it alone with student loans, because my family don't really give me any money, most of them because they can't afford it the rest because they don't thinks deserve to get anything extra (or can't balance my finances or something)

I don't really feel left out though, that comes from living in the back end of nowhere Norway, so even if I could afford to do anything I couldn't really go to the US and so on.

But, um, I know in a certain guild I'm in one of the women was shocked I knew what I was singing about when I sang this. I asked if she wanted me to stop and she said she wasn't bothered so I don't know what that was about.

Shit, a song I won't sing public? I guess anything that, out of context, would make me seem hateful to some group or something. (Like this song?)

Yeah, I really liked the book-version of Sherlock's feelings for her, which is more being pleased and impressed rather than any romantic feeling.
