Basically some crew hired to film the final scenes of Series 5 posted on their Facebook a scene featuring a lORRY (WHICH IS A TRUCK) PASSING WHICH IMPLIES THE FINAL SCENE SHOWS MERLIN REINCARNATED/IMMORTALLY EXISTING IN PRESENT DAY.

Also Arthur apparently gets killed by Mordred. And Merlin may or may not reveal his magic literally 5 minutes before Arthur dies.

Fuck.

I remember once seeing a quote from someone (don't know who) saying they wouldn't reveal any time soon because people will stop watching, it's like when a couple has UST and it's will they/won't they. It could be a bullshit quote but...I don't really see those things as the same thing at all. And MAGIC IS EVIL AND BAD, BAN IT FOR GOOD is getting old for me. I am considering stopping with this show if it isn't the last series. It's a shame because I like it as a bit of Saturday night fluff so never expected it to be genius. But yeah, the lack of Merlin reveal is putting me off, not keeping me hooked.

TL;DR I hope Arthur at least suspects and we see that soon!

Everything I read about this show makes me so glad I stopped watching in S2. And yet....I can't seem to stay completely away. *facepalm* I still keep checking in on the show from a safe distance, and I have no idea why. :(

Do you mean when Julian Murphy said he didn't see the need for a reveal because it's "classic" that Merlin's identity is a secret? (Which makes NO FUCKING SENSE because Merlin's powers were never a secret in the legend, but whatever).

Haven't seen the new episodes yet, but it's been my headcanon that Arthur has known about Merlin's magic at least since the episode where Elyan was possessed by the Druid boy. Merlin used magic to blow open the locked doors of the hall while Arthur was in it. Even if he somehow missed Merlin using magic ALL THE TIME, there's no way he could have missed that, fight or no fight.

I've assumed that Arthur's known for a long time (before the Disir stuff) and that was going to be the twist when Merlin finally reveals the truth.

If you're saying that you think that following the events of the Disir Arthur knows, I'd have to disagree. For me this was an episode that gave more plausible deniability than most.

If however you mean that the way Arthur was acted throughout this episode suggested that he knew before it began, I would long to be able to agree with you. As I facetiously said to my friend earlier:

My biggest problem with Merlin is the fact that you're simultaneously expected to believe that Arthur is a wise and effective ruler, and that he and his knights are capable, well-trained warriors, and yet they STILL haven't noticed Merlin? At the very least they should be patting his head like a good luck charm considering the number of times they've regained consciousness only to find that the humble manservant has somehow emerged victorious against the undead/slavering beasty, whilst armed with a neckerchief and a bag of herbs.

My biggest problem with Merlin is that I remain convinced that the writers are going to do the Big Reveal one day. At which point all hope of Arthur not being blind & deaf/terminally idiotic/surprisingly high functioning amnesiac will finally be blown out of the water. Seriously, series, pull your socks up, go back in time and have Arthur realise 2 series ago. Then give them fun "We have a super-sekrit secret!" adventures. Your audience deserves it.

Yeah, I'd really like it if that happened. Bradley does give off these looks and says things a certain way that I could totally believe Arthur knew and kept it secret.
But I doubt the writers would do that. They do not understand subtlety.

Damn it, my sister and I were convinced Arthur knew about Merlin's magic since episode fucking two. I swear it's just Bradley now; not even his acting. It's just Bradley, unable to hide how ridiculous it is that the writers are dragging this secret out for so long.

See, I watch it occasionally with a friend. We watched the latest episode and decided not to talk about it because it was so shitty.

I missed the complete third season and to this day don't feel like I actually missed anything at all.

The costumes are so fucking terrible.

What is with the CGI? As if the dragons weren't already bad enough, what was with that fucking Alien-thingy a few episodes ago? I was expecting the Tardis sound any second.

The character development is shitty.

The plot is non-existant.

We actually don't know why we're still watching it.
