She's not supposed to be beautiful in the books - just sorta pretty. Also, her being pretty really isn't a plot point (like Cersei or Jaime) so who cares?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-11 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Really? I thought she was repeatedly described as super pretty (not stunning like Cersei or Jaime or even Melisandre where people srsly can't take their eyes off them, but OMG SO LOVELY, like a picture or a doll) by both Sansa and Cersei. I also thought it was kind of a plot point for her role in Cersei's story, cause (maybe mild spoilers?) she has that fortune-based fear of having all her shit ruined by some "younger and more beautiful" woman.

(I love that side of the story, by the way. Cause she thinks it might be Margaery, and it could turn out to be a future/stronger Sansa, but the overarching story of the books suggests it's fuckin' Dany, who Cersei might not even know exists)

I've noticed that a lot of white people look like feet to me. Even ones that are considered attractive by the media. Like Robert Pattinson? He definitely looks like a foot. So does this girl.

Don't get me wrong, I've see butt-ugly people of all colors, but only white people have the feet thing with me. Weird.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-11 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Now see, I have always wondered what it means when someone says "looks like a foot"...do you mean, literally? Like their face is shaped like a foot? Is the hair the toes? Or do you mean, they look fug b/c feet are fug (or at least the general consensus is feet aren't especially attractive)?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-11 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
omg anon, I can REALLY understand you. especially regarding those two you're talking about, they actually do look like feet. of course there are hideous people of all colors, but only white people have this foot-y kind of look to me too.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-11 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Feet? Really?

What constitutes looking like a foot? I have no idea.

Wat.

Do your feet bizarrely resemble people, or something? This woman looks nothing like a foot.

her face is disgusting imo
i hated her in the fades and captain america as well as got. imo she has this twisted expression that looks like she's really an asshole/'bitchface'
the only thing i can commend her on is managing to look rly young

That's...really awfully silly, considering how subjective beauty is. It's not all about your viewpoint.

Besides, I think she looks rather pretty.

idg op and people in this thread

I think she's very handsome, and can look lovely from the side with that upturn to her mouth. Let's get over the same old pretty women already.

I think she's gorgeous either way, though I do have a special fondness for dark hair.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-11 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
My main problem is that she's TWICE THE AGE that Margaery is. I get that the show is aging up everyone, but would it have been so hard to find an actress in her early 20s to play 16-year-old Margaery? I LOVE Natalie Dormer, but she is way too old to play Margaery. Show!Margaery is closer to Cersei in age than to Sansa, while she's only a couple of years older than Sansa in the books.

One of the show's worst miscasts, and I'm saying that about one of my favorite actresses playing one of my favorite characters.

But beauty is subjective, and a lot of people [including myself] think Dormer is stunning?

I agree. When I found at she was playing Margaery, I thought, 'oh, that can work'. Then I saw the first pictures, and... blegh. I don't mind her look, but it could be more distinctive. She looks less like the beautiful daughter of the Tyrells and more like a peasant extra they slapped a pretty dress onto.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-11 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Long? What crack are you smoking, OP?

(Anonymous) 2012-12-11 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
If that's your idea of too long... whose face would be a good length, in your opinion? Rainbow Brite?

TBH, when I first looked at this secret, before I read any of the text, I saw the picture of her in the top left and went, "Oooh, she's pretty!"

I think this must be a taste thing, because I think her hair and face look prettier in the pictures you aren't pointing an arrow at.

(Anonymous) 2012-12-11 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
She's still very pretty (her face doesn't look long to me?) but I agree, the darker, curly hair looks better.

[personal profile] rocks_not_dead 2012-12-11 06:20 am (UTC)(link)
That pic you chose of her with black curly hair is from The Tudors. I reckon they might partly not have given her the same hair style for exactly that reason. she might have looked too much like Anne Boleyn.

I agree that the curly hair looks better with the shape of her face, but I thought she was supposed to be blonde like Loras...didn't the books mention her being blonde? Or am I imagining things again?
