I kind of get what you mean, but since your priorities don't seem to be relationships with real people anyway... why stress?
This might be a problem if fictional characters stop being the light of your life. But in that case you might actually put effort into real-people relationships and not end up alone.

Well, I mean, I think you would have a point if her development was weird in realistic, recognizable ways that had the ring of truth, you know? But they don't, because the show isn't really about realism in any way. And that's okay, but it's hard to use realism as a defense in such a cartoonish show.

They already exist in droves on fanfiction.net.

(A fictional) Example:

"Bethany is an average girl who went to pee after The Hobbit and was sucked into Middle Earth through a magic portal. Can Bethany survive in these trying times, or will Thorin kill her himself? OCxThorin, R&R; Thanks!"

A lot of these fics actually have comments and followers, but I've never read any myself. I guess most people read them for the lol's.

You can write for both, really. "Storytelling" is a performance art that needs a public space to exist. "Writing" is something you do in your garret, for your own pleasure in the sheer joy in pouring out words.

It's when you get satisfaction from neither that you should stop.

People who try to claim that shipping a m/m or f/f pairing makes them an LGBT ally is annoying and really needs to stop. Also, forcing anyone out of the closet, even if they are actually LGBT (and, uh, I don't think you can force someone out of the closet if they're straight... just saying), is a vile thing to do. Just because someone is famous, that does not make their sexuality anyone else's business.
