2. Personally, I can't stand someone who ships ONLY one thing. The people who only like yaoi seem to think they're superior because they're ~*edgy*~, and tend to be sexist. The people who like only het are typically, despite all claims otherwise, at least a little homophobic.
I know there's a matter of preference, but come on, people. Gender shouldn't be that big an issue in relationships, and I hate that you all act like it's the only thing that matters. :|

5. Sorry but...were the holic and TRC fandoms ever really small? Sometimes, it seemed that everyone on lj knew about it before the first issues (original and English translated) came out. (or was this secret meant for another fandom?)

A few years ago, one of my "friends" (who's a bit of a BNF) stole an entire scene from a fic she was beta-ing for me and used it in her own fic. I don't know whether to be flattered or annoyed when people STILL link me back to her fic and talk about their favorite part of it. It's almost invariably mine.

6 - Just tell her straight out, that you're not comfortable role-playing smut, and that you'd like a little notice before she does something that'll directly affect your character, if you need to. :D I know it's hard, but RP is about compromise between parties, and you can't let yourself just get stepped on because she's new!

15 - LOVE. Target has it for 5.50 on DVD. I keep meaning to grab it when I'm on break, but then I totally flake :(

17. oh god me too. I loved that they showed that deleted scene where Jake was like 'no one will be as good of a boyfriend as Rickey' and just ;aldkfjasldfj :( I loved Jake. He was one of my favorite temporary quickie characters, and I really wish they'd done that Rose: Defender of the Earth series, so that we'd get to see more of him.

17. I loved that too. They didn't delete it because they were erasing the fact he was gay, they deleted it because it was a tacky line. That just made the scene so much sadder, but i was already suspecting in that scene that that might happen, then was surprised when it didn't. The Doc was looking all knowingly at him. rickys_world we're not the only fans...

2. ...either the whole 'het fans always bash yaoi!!!' thing is overblown, or I've found the absolute perfect fandom niche. None of my fics, yaoi or het, have been bashed on that account. On pairing, yes, on orientation of pairing? No. Yaoi fans got it good, at least if you a) don't aspire to make it to the front page of dA, or b) pick an archive that isn't ff.net, and even then, I've only seen the bashing in huge ass fandoms like Naruto.

Seriously, I've felt way more 'oppressed' by yaoi fans than het fans. But like I said, I tend to run with a tolerant fandom crowd.

1. No, you're not shallow, enjoy cute things for no other reason than because they're cute. Life is short. :D

2. I ... yeah, I really know where you're coming from. Slash fans can be completely obnoxious and have serious issues with characterization and character bashing, but het fans are almost always guilty of the same crimes and seem to have a tendency to be more pretentious about it. In the long run a condescending attitude is more irritating than a hyper fanbrat.

2. No matter how you look at it, it's all generalizing. There are annoying shippers everywhere, whether it's het or not =/ Het shippers can sometimes sit on a holier-than-thou throne (See: FMA fandom) simply because their ships DO have more of a chance of becoming canon, but that's a small percentage and can't be used to represent het shippers as a whole.

Personally, I've met some really nice ones! A few people in the communities are a little elitist, and have this "______ HAS SLIGHTLY CHANGED THEIR LOOK/SOUND, THEY'RE ABANDONING THEIR TRUE FANS!!" complex, but they can be pretty easy to avoid.

3. Forget the boob window, I nearly lol'd at the really really high cut leg she has on her suit. Seen wtfhigher cuts before in reality - catwalk outfits, so only a sort-of reality - but still, omg. With all the superheroine arse-kicking she must do that suit's got to be like taking cheesewire to your flesh. And it looks like a v. awkward cut on her actual bones. Making me wince.

8. Saw it yesterday and found it as hit and miss as I found the first series, but Mos is brill so I'll keep watching, he's funny and I want his clooothes. C4 should make the show half an hour of Mos with occasional bits of goth-inna-cupboard (just for me, and then send round a pony an aquarium). Not into pairings, but Jenn/Roy sounds fun and I hope your friend gets back into it and you can chat lots. :)

20. Torchwood, right? Can't think of anything else he's been in. I liked him in it (made a change from all the Jack-fascination), save the outta nowhere 'Oh Diane' whirlwind romance and mini-arc. But any time I've seen LJ people mention him, no one likes him. Am looking forward to new Torchwood despite the last Dr Who finale teaching me NEVER TO LOOK FORWARD TO ANYTHING EVER AGAIN BECAUSE SOMEONE WILL FUCK IT UP and then write Martha out.

Don't worry, wasn't obsessively into the pairings, we jut thought that Jenn/Roy sounded cute. And then wanted to write some. I found almost everything from the first series hilarious though.
