2. Yeah, I'm a het shipper, but I'm going to have to agree here. Het shippers fight with each other all the time. I hate how they have to dog on yaoi and yuri. I also hate the whole, "My het ship is canon that means all other het, yaoi, and yuri ships are never, ever going to happen. Get over it. Blah, blah, blah!" I'm really sorry my side is annoying. 2: FUCKING WORD. While your generalization is a problem, I get that you're referring to the "HET ONLY EVERYTHING ELSE SUCKS" shippers who argue from heteronormativity and yaoi-hate and you don't mean anyone who ships het at all.

Yes, there are sane het fans. However, if you as a het fan are going to rant and rave about how disgusting yaoi fanbrats are, please to admit YOU HAVE YOUR OWN. And they are just as fucking annoying as anything yaoi fandom can produce. We both have stereotypers and misogynists and people who flame others just due to their ships.

The fact that het ships have a better chance of being canon isn't an OMG ATTACK ON YAOI SHIPPERS, but, um, I dunno, common sense?

That really depends on the fandom. Considering the OP of #2 used an Angel Sanctuary pic, I'm assuming she is a Kaori Yuki fan, and in her stories het and yaoi have an equal chance of being canon.

CLAMP is the same way, any story they write there's an equal chance of the main pairing being a yaoi one. Even when het is the main pairing it's hard finding a series by them where there isn't a homosexual character/pairing somewhere.

*shrugs* After dealing with new brats fans in the CLAMP fandom who say "ZOMG THEY CAN'T BE CANON BECAUSE THEY'RE BOTH GUYS!", I get what the OP means.

Funnily enough, nearly every Japanese Bebop fansite I used to visit leaned towards Jet/Spike or Spike/Jet. It wasn't till this year that I encountered English fic for that pairing.

I almost wish I could like that pairing, since it's two AWESOME characters, but it just doesn't completely click for me.
