I kinda agree, but that's the point of the story, isn't it? That the genders are reversed. And also, what makes it up for me, is that at least their relationship seems a bit more equal, if that makes sense? Argh, I don't know how to explain myself.

I dont' think it surprised anybody that twilight was meant to be the leader. But that she has to change her race to do it is kinda fucking problematic. I guess a Unicorn isn't good enough to be the sucessor, nope, she needs to be "evolved."

I've been out of the fandom for ages but I've got a craving for fic all of a sudden. Preferably short stories and drabbles, I don't really have the dedication to get into something plotty. As for genre, fluff and humor would be best.

My favorite characters are Lee, Sakura, Kiba, Gaara, Hinata, Ino, Kakashi, and Neji. Favorite pairings are NaruHina, SakuHina, InoHina, KibaHina, NejiHina, NejiLee, LeeGaa, and KakaGai, but I'll try anything. Gen would be great too.

Not sure if this counts, exactly, but I fell in love with Doctor Who during the RTD era, fell out of love sometime during the Moffat era and stopped watching midway through season 6, then, a while later, went back to check out the Classic series completely on a whim, fell in love all over again, and am merrily slogging through it while I wait for the current showrunner to change.

what people mean when they talk about not liking a certain thing in a piece of fiction because they think it was manipulative?

On the one hand I'm genuinely confused. On the other, what were they expecting? That's what fiction IS. It's not a historical account; if I write that someone has died, it's because I want the reader to feel sad or relieved or whatever, and the tone and wording of the scene will support that. When I do that, or simply when an author puts any element into a story that isn't required for a factual statement of events, it's intended to get a reaction out of the reader. It's manipulative.

Is their problem that it isn't subtle enough? I don't get it.

I don't think she was depressed because he didn't return her feelings. I believe he did, but when we take into account what he was doing at that time (infiltrating Fenris's werewolf ranks) and knowing his character, the more likely reason was a) she was terrified for him b) he was trying to push her away because spending time with his kind fed his self-hatred about the whole werewolf thing and all.

i just want to say how absolutely fascinating it is that a vague statement can garner so many different types of responses. it's interesting how you all have very different feelings about what 'anon' means, what it represents and how you feel other people view it and why they might use it or not use it. i'm kind of sorry i explained why i made that statement, as now the responses will become more tailored.

The only reason I got into this pairing was because of someone I follow on Tumblr. It was a good decision.
