Kodocha and Fruits Basket. (No idea if they're on Crunchy Roll or HUlu though.)

No, no, moe isn't the thing with massive animated boobs and asses, moe is the thing where the girls are really cute and precious and incompetent and don't have massive animated boobs and asses while guys pretend they just want to protect them or think they're totally adorable while actually secretly totally wanting to bone them.

I am so, SO worried about Agron and Nasir. I think I'm going to bawl if they end up dying, especially if they are separated. I think I could only accept their deaths if they die together. :|

If People of Color can't be racist, then misandry doesn't exist. So this secret really has no point.

Well, three possible problems:

1) The scene is not honest. A good scene builds emotional resonance by treating the characters honestly, and earning the sympathy of the audience through good character development. A dishonest scene just cribs together a mess of cliches that are supposed to make us feel an emotion by association. The James Bond WiR is a good example. She's just a plot device to establish big bad as bad, and Bond as angry.

2) The writer starts with a good scene, but doesn't trust the audience, so they add more and more formulaic elements and cliches to try to force it. The result feels rather like a Jim Steinman song, but without the gonzo sense of fun. ME3 is terrible at this.

3) The emotional development of the work is fairly obviously staged around commercial ends. For example, having a dramatic cliffhanger before the commercial break or ridiculously prolonging and teasing the resolution of a romantic conflict to maximize advertising sales. A literary example is Anne Rice's The Witching Hour which isn't really a novel and has a cliffhanger to prompt you to buy the next novel. (In contrast to Pet Semetary which ends on a cliffhanger but has enough structure for you to make a good guess about the epilogue.)

Although I feel like the most buzz Elementary gets is whenever a new post goes up on ONTD and the fans come out of the woodwork to talk about it there.

Yeah, same here! That ending was sooo unneccesary omfg

da

Society. Life. Everything. Ever. In the world.

Misandry is a lie men made up to try to drown out the voices of feminists calling them on their bullshit.

You're not a neckbeard, then, you're just a fucking idiot.

Misandry doesn't exist. Period.

???

Assuming all men are interested in boobs and asses wouldn't be misandrist

it would be a) homophobic

and b) silly

not misandrist

because misandry does not exist

Ulgh IKR. I want to like it and have it be better, but I feel myself being judgmental and petty. Like Clarisse in the books had a broad build, very masculine/athletic, yet the photos I see of the actress they got to portray Clarisse is very thin. Hollywood. Blah.

I shouldn't give a shit, though, I guess. They fucked up Lightening Thief badly enough, why give a shit how much more they they fuck it up?

Yep! It's coming out this Christmas.

The best part is that Aamir Khan is going to be in it. I fucking love Aamir Khan.

Re: BBC Sherlock

(Anonymous) 2013-03-01 07:23 am (UTC)(link)
I was feeling the show until they had an actor with a bad American accent, especially after a snobby English person on an unrelated forum was going on about how easy it was to fake an American accent just a couple weeks prior to me watching Sherlock for the first time.

I do like Sherlock, but I do agree that it lacks subtlety and complexity, and yes! Some points of the show are just way too obvious.

Makeup

(Anonymous) 2013-03-01 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
I've started wearing makeup this year. (Along with starting a proper skin care routine) For some strange reason, wearing just a little bit of makeup (foundation, concealer, blush and lipstick) has given me a bit more confidence in myself. While I don't feel I could conquer the world or anything, I feel that can be a little bolder and daring.

Has anyone else ever felt this way when wearing makeup?

Agreed on pretty much everything!

Re: Ships you used to love but don't anymore

(Anonymous) 2013-03-01 07:27 am (UTC)(link)
About the Harry/Hermione, I casually kind of shipped them, but just in a, "It would be fun if..." way, but people were taking it so seriously and demanded that it be canon that I was really turned off to it. It didn't help that I shipped Ron/Hermione a little more.

Harry/Draco

Got boring after awhile. Now I ship their kids. Just kidding.

but wouldnt they come for the sockpuppets first.

Re: Have you ever fallen out of love with a show, then back in love?

(Anonymous) 2013-03-01 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
Lost. After the show ended, I thought, "It was THAT great. What a waste of time!" But then I was bored one day and watched a random episode and was like, "OH MY GOSH! I forgot how good it was!"

The Sopranos. I watched the show years after it ended and I was really into it. But near the end of the fourth season I began feeling a little disinterested. I only got a few episodes into the sixth season before giving up on the show. I never finished it. But just a few weeks ago I caught an episode on HBO and I thought, "Damn, this show was really good, maybe I should finish it." So I probably will in the next month.
