33. Is that why Jeff left? I didn't know that! OMG! D: I own the 4th season but it's hard to watch. That show just isn't the same without Jeff. :/

Re: 33.

[identity profile] mcruthless.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 09:04 am (UTC)(link)
:( I think the worst part (besides female Jeff "....") was the fact that he didn't even do a "goodbye" episode or anything.

Back in the days I didn't write stories, I used to feel the same way, too scared to praise the authors of the stories I liked, particularly when they never responded when I found enough courage to do so. I was sure they were laughing at me or something for daring to write to them.

I found out differently when I received a gushing comment for one of my stories. Speaking only for myself, I was so very flattered by the comment that I didn't know how to respond, so I just didn't. Maybe I should have anyway, but I'm not sure I could acknowledge the comment without making myself sound like a grinning fool.

That aside, I don't know your reason for not telling these authors, so this may not be helpful at all. In conclusion, I can only wish you luck.

Thank you very much for your comment. I wasn't expecting anything as thought out as this, so I really appreciate it.
As you explained for yourself, I'm just incredibly afraid. It's reassuring to hear the other side of it -- it gave me some courage to speak up next time I get the chance. ^^; Thank you, again.

14 Wow. I thought I was the only person who got irrationally pissed over that.

KIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIBAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

07) KIBA ish luff. It needs more fans. O.O;;
Hugh was pretty cool, but Elmeda was my fave of the trio. I wouldn't have expected her to be the last one standing.

lol it feels like 1995 again

29: tl;dr

[identity profile] mythicbeast.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, as a fandom artist, I have to say I actually appreciate the rare long comment. Makes you feel like someone actually put thought into responding to something you put together, you know?

I know looking at fanart isn't usually a process where you stare at a picture from hours and hours and SOMEHOW YOU GET AN EPIPHANY IN UR SOULZ, unlike, say, a piece of fanfiction. But even if art seems to get a lot more comments than the average drabble, it's not really ... as fulfilling, you know? I think the thought put into feedback for fic is usually a lot more thought out than it is for art. That's understandable, given the difference in medium, but still... I've produced both, and the reception is really different.

Sometimes when you draw something that took you eight hours, you just want something a little more meaningful than 'lol cool' or '___ is so hot!1'

[identity profile] stopping.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. Okay. Number 22, whoever you are, I love you and I need to have your babies. THANK YOU. He ruined my favorite character. D8

[identity profile] aviy.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
14. I DID NOT KNOW THAT. I also. Don't really care. The meaning of something changes and fluxations and evolves as it spreads on the internet? YOU DON'T SAY. Epic lulz, kids

16. I AM NEW TO YOUR FABULOUS FANDOM /o/

19. All of these highschool musical secrets are making me desperately want to see this movie.

22. THEY'RE GETTING BETTER

23. ..........power rangers still exists? I. this makes me happy somewhere deep, deep, deep in my soul.

29. I imagine most fanarts prefer detailed commentary over "OMG IT'S SO AWESOME \o/" not that such comments are bad, it's just that they all start to look alike after a while. PS. Is there an uneditted version of that picture somewhere? =D

It's one of the main reasons I love Super Smash Brothers, along with the fact that it's so insanely fun. I have a firm belief that Falco has a soft spot and spoils Pichu. >>

32: I have a feeling you won't get too many positive comments - Nakago/Soi isn't a popular ship - but <3 <3 <3 I love these two together. Almost all my fav ships follow the same formula.

Bwah? We Love Katamari makes it very, very obvious that the King of All Cosmos is head over heels nuts for his lovely Queen of All Cosmos and was from the very first moment he met her. So unless the Queen is secretly a man in drag, not seeing where the hell the slashers are getting the gay from.

[identity profile] killcity.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
19. While I do HIGHLY agree Zac did a whole lot better in Hairspray (HSM doesn't really seem to bring out a character in him), um, I'm almost 18 and I love HSM.

But uh, who the fuck cares about age. Anyone can enjoy a cheesy and lame movie and NOT be like fucking 10 years old.

14. I do have to admit, I did think that "wrrry" was a messed-up version of "whhhhy?!", but thanks to my Jojo's Bizarre Adventure-loving friend/4channer, I know better!

16. I had mixed feelings when I read this :[.

17. ME TOO.

21. LOLOL

22. Uhm, like other people said, there are VAs that do take consideration on capturing the spirit of the Japanese counterpart?

23. OMG, I THINK I KNOW WHO WROTE THIS X]!

I like dubs but hate Vic. D: His Fay makes me want to kill myself. If he voices him in the Acid Tokyo OVAs I'll cry.

[identity profile] jlarinda.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 06:08 am (UTC)(link)
I kinda want him to have to do it just so he has to play the gay, gay vampire scene.

I'd understand a bit if, I don't know, you owned KHR or something? I don't get the whole "I hate when things I like get popular" mentality, I guess. I don't think that not being there from the beginning makes anyone less of a fan, the same way I don't think being there from the beginning makes you any MORE of a fan than others.

Actually, I had a similar experience. Someone I really disliked started getting into KHR. Know what I did? Ignored them. Don't pay any attention to them and just associate with the people in the fandom whom you DO like. It's not that big a deal.

Plus, one person isn't anything in the eyes of a publisher, so without fans, where the hell would any series be?

Without other fans, could you have even gotten into the fandom? Do you know Japanese? Would you have liked it as much if those "other fans" weren't around to scan/translate? It just doesn't make any sense to me.

#14 and #16!

[identity profile] banjocatbanjo.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 07:33 am (UTC)(link)
...I'd always thought it was pronounced like wry/rye. I FAIL AT INTERNET MEMES. Thanks, #14! T3Tb

Reborn has been the ONE fandom where I've gotten on and off the wagon before the masses poured into it! (Usually I'm like a year late.) I think I feel a mixture of grateful and proud! WHICH IS A COCKTAIL OF LAME.

8. Shinkai love! :D

You know, Voices of a Distant Star almost perfectly mirrors a deep, close, long-distance friendship I had with someone I met online. To top it off, the first time I saw that film was a little while after he came here to live so we could be together. We both cried, and he also thought it was a lot like us. That's actually what drew us to it in the first place.

[identity profile] rayiroth.livejournal.com 2007-09-09 09:49 am (UTC)(link)
OMG. I wish there are more people like you. You have no idea how many many of us fan artists would treasure your inputs like that.

Pity that you will also be bombard by fantards who can't handle anything saved for worshipping.

14: Wow, I learned something new today.
31: Oh HELLZ yes. When I saw that deleted scene on the DVDs, "I'll never have another boyfriend like him", I all but DIED. :D

2. someone needs to take their meds.

15. if they are bothered by it, then then HQ groups should consider stepping up getting their new releases out. not everyone enjoys waiting twice as long to read something just to get 'high quality'.

19. yes because what you enjoy watching is TOTALLY an indicator of how old you are. srsly.

20. exactly!

22. I really hate dub vs. sub crap.

25. made harder when the voice actor/seiyuu is a woman and voicing a man's part.

26. why can't you? it's extremely flattering to hear from people that their work is enjoyed.

28. I like the artwork!
