Amen for you! You rock. I was hoping to see some people come back and say the secret poster is hating the wrong thing. Those are the kind of people I wish weren't in the fandom. Everything falls apart if you can't at least accept that other people aren't like you and that it's okay to have different opinions. We may not like the same things, but I still don't think less of the people for doing so.

Well, at least I know for certain now that someone somewhere out there hates me.

1. Say, maybe Mario and Sammy could be friends! I don't see why not, although the thought has never crossed my mind before since, while my brother always plays as Samus in our SSB brawls, I use Luigi instead XD But friendship sounds dandy! The world needs more of that stuff.

22. When you say that, do you mean companies as a whole, or just the actors? I always get my feathers ruffled whenever see accusations against dubbing companies, although it's mostly a matter of pride (I've dubbed stuff myself, see, and I've made sure to watch it and/or at least research it lots). Certainly, some dubs could be done lots better, and they bother me just as much as the next anime fan, but hatred of the magnitude your secret is displaying seems upsetting to me.

I like to think that more people involved in the dubbing process take pride in and enjoy the series they're working on. I lack numbers or statistics to back this up, true, but I feel that if they're working for a company that deals primarily, if not entirely with the dubbing of anime, that they'll have at least some appreciation for the medium.

Of course, I haven't seen the Tsubasa dub, so I have no idea what Mr. MignogyogoarrIcan'tspellhisname might have done to spark your wrath, so maybe it's enough to turn one against NA dubs forever, I don't know XD;

I'm very sorry for rambling! But as a VA + anime fan, I feel like I have to defend my side somehow. I'm always so reluctant to admit I do that sort of stuff, even on a small scale, because I worry I'll get beaten up by angry anime fans who hate dubs ^^;

35. Maybe it is real magic! Hm, as much as I love magicky things, I could never get into that show 'cause I seem to have an inherent dislike for dark, metal-y personas. I catch a peek of it now and then when my mom and brother watch it, though XD

1. Heh. I dunno, it started out as a crack!ship that quickly grew into a serious friendship!ship after lots of plot bunnies. Truth be told, no one is sure what Samus' personality really is, but I'd like to think she'd see Mario as a loyal friend who stands by his word and is generally trustworthy.

(Then again, I get so fed up with how people write Mario, I write him as the hero he's lauded to be in the games... but that's another story!)

2. Shut up. I think Haruhi/Hikaru is hot, but I think the same with Haruhi/anyone basically. I'm pretty much in love with all the ships except (OH GOD I WILL BE THROTTLED FOR THIS) Hikaru/Kaoru. I don't know, it just doesn't perk my interest. D: Though twincest fans don't bug me. But one of the really (lame) reasons I ship Haruhi/Hikaru has to do with their VAs. ;D I ship Suzumura Kenichi/Maaya Sakamoto lol.

22. Some do. Some don't. I've read somewhere some VA's pick up the manga and read it, others watch the anime in Japanese but some just... don't. Yeah, Vic Mignogna fails in that department but I still think he was a pretty good Edward. Everyone else hated him as Edward but... I guess I'm not a "true" fan. :(

25. I was confused when I first read the manga. Then in the anime I was like, "Oh god, her voice makes it more confusing!" because she's got a deep voice in both Japanese and English. I LOVE Integra though.

Haha, I now want to ship Maaya Sakamoto/Yoko Kanno now. I've never thought of shipping Maaya, even though I've been a huge fan of her music for years. But you mentioned that, and I was "Shipping Maaya?...maybe with Kanno..." I haven't watched much Ouran, but I'm curious about Suzumura/Maaya now. Maybe you could tell me about it? :)

Really? I've always gotten the impression that everyone loved him as Ed. I thought he was great myself! And he's a nice guy in terms of signing autographs and stuff, but I think the fame he got from doing Ed kinda went to his head and he thought he could say whatever he wanted about fandom and no one would care. He's still nice to his fans, though, and I like him as an actor. I'm not a Tsubasa fan, but know I'm curious about what you mean by him failing...I'll have to get the DVD off of Netflicks then!

I mean, I could kind of understand if they were writing fanfiction, because their characterization would probably be off and it might perpetrate annoying fanon cliches about the characters. But if someone just mentions that they happen to be interested in a fandom or pairing and haven't experienced the canon, why is that such a huge crime?

Final Fantasy VII has the unusual fandom quality where probably half or so of the fandom has not played the game.

It gets a little frustrating to the fans of the original. I mean, it's a 50+ hour game or something, you can't just explain every detail satisfactorily in wikipedia.

I don't have a problem with fans in my other fandoms who aren't totally familiar with the canon. Stuff happens. But it's such a large number in the FFVII fandom that it's impossible to just ignore the existence of fans who haven't played the game.

Plus, I don't know about you, but I really suck at those games. I've tried them before and I almost never finish them. So, unless I find someone capable of beating hte game and watch them play it for 50+ hours, I'm not likely to even make it through the whole game. The nearest I can come to knowing these characters is through other people's works and the movie.

Granted, the 100$ price tag that that unattractive collection of polygons and horrid translation gathers now is appalling. Even though it's my favourite game, I can't stand the price people are selling it at.

But you can get it off of an emulator. I know people who have it on that, so if you really want to play it, that's the easiest way to go.

But god knows even though I own a copy in great condition, I would love if they would remake just the graphics and retranslate it. It would be fantastic if all the people who are scared away by the translation and graphics could actually play the game.

And I can't fault them. I mean, I's laugh if someone told me now to play a game where I could count the number of polygons on a character on my fingers, and where the translation A: tries to get you killed on the first boss battle ("Attack while it's tail is up!") and B: manages to somehow kill a character that wasn't dead.

19. Um, I'm much older than twelve, and I love HSM! I don't love it for the same reasons twelve year olds do, probably, but I still love it. But Zac was hotter in Hairspray! I never found him attractive until Hairspray actually (was too busy drooling over Lucas Grabeel :P). And Elijah Kelly's pretty fine as well! But the hottest guy in Hairspray was John Travolta! xD

29. I actually prefer reviews like that. I'd rather have a snobby yet descriptive review than "OMG so cute ^______^" But your review doesn't sound snobby to me, just really detailed and good. Don't be afraid to say what you want! I find that I grow as an artist if I get a detailed comment, so I know what works and doesn't.
