1. I feel the same way. I've actually seen several secrets about me in this comm, and only half have been good.

This is actually the first time I've looked here in a long time because of it.

8. How do you even see them as friends if you are contemptuous of them?

11. I wish people would look at it more like "pairings" than just slashing characters. 'Cause fixing people up with girls they're not set to end up with in the series (especially anime) is just as unlikely.

It has, though I am very disappointed at the lack of Rachel Weisz and not sure how I feel about how Evelyn was recast. A lot of my love for the movies was the dynamic the actors created, both Rick and Evelyn and Evelyn and her brother, and later Evelyn and her son. She was Evelyn: those are going to be tough shoes to fill.

6 I don't think that's so weird, either. I mean, I'm skinny, and I still try and tone my abs in the month before a con if my costume shows them. I see it as part of making the costume look good, sort of like having a good wig or something similar. I've seen cosplayers who were heavier than me have costumes that made mine look like the retarded creations of a five year old, so I don't think it's required for good cosplay by any means. But I think it can make a costume look better.

I've actually made a lot of friends through this fandom, and I've always felt pretty welcome in it. I wish we had more fanfic and fanart, but all in all I think there's a lot of love to be found. We do seem sort of disconnected at times, but I think eventually we'll grow to be a more tight knit group.

11. My roommate is a gay man, and his thoughts on yaoi are interesting; the porn is more than fine to him, but you get into some of the relationship dynamics and it just weirds him out. Well, I got into the game by reading zarla's AU where ZEX lives and he and Captain have frequent "talks" and totally freak out the other VUX. And then I played the game, predisposed towards ZEX's AWESOMENESS and thinking he was sexy and HIM HITTING ON ME DID NOTHING TO SWAY MY OPINION.

My secret? Harry/Hermione fans are for the most part totally batshit crazy and I don't really care when someone insults them. Delusional? They brought that on themselves. I'm not even a Good Shipper but every time I see gloating like that I laugh inwardly because I imagine the people who threatened mass suicide on Rowling's lawn and have a theologian for their favorite romance between fictional characters getting irritated. The only reason the OBHWF fans are so full of snark is because they've dealt with years of pure ridiculousness from the other side.

Oh sure there are sane Harry/Hermione fans out there, just as there are OBHWF fans that never gloat about their pairing being canon. But for the most part, the Harry/Hermione fans deserve it for high levels of complete craziness and general disrespect towards any fan that doesn't see the "supreme love."

And if you use the word "Harmony" for your ship I automatically lose respect for you.

Damn you I did not notice that and now I feel blindly compelled to write it. Like I wasn't already shipping Tetsuya/Gokudera (lol fanboys), Gokudera/Kasanoda (lol tsundere), and Ishimaru/Yamamoto (from Eyeshield 21. Ridiculously relaxed sportsmen ftw).

And I love Yamamoto all because he's Yamamoto. I wish Mori had more of a character for me to get attached to.

In this post, fandom gets way too defensive about porn!

Seriously, some people don't like yaoi. Yaoi is a pretty dominant thing in most fandoms, so there's bound to be some complaints about it from the people who don't like it. Those who are posting "cry more" style comments just can't see past their own preferences long enough to realise that some people just outright do not like how prevalent yaoi is in fandom. I don't see anything wrong with that because it (and its fangirls) annoy the shit out of me too.
