I've been supportive of this casting choice.

Because I'm hoping it turns into a disaster big enough that the Batman property is radioactive for a few years, and they'll have to remember that the DC comics world has characters that aren't Batman.

I found out about this today. I sat chuckling about it for at least 10 minutes. I hope it does either:

1. Horrible - So that noone except Adam West will touch Batman without a ten foot pole.

2. Fan-fucking-tastic - So that I get to see so many people having a ranting wank fest because it's Ben Affleck. I want it to be so good that people will talk about it for years as the best Batman movie ever made.

Either way will be incredible for me. I'm already stocking up on popcorn. :)

I think Zak Snyder is a bigger problem than Ben Affleck so the casting news isn't having much of an effect on me.

Hahaha, I'm not ashamed to admit that I find #batfleck amusing. (But then again I am easily amused.)

As for Ben...whatever, honestly. I thought it was an odd choice at first, but maybe he'll surprise people and pull it off. If he doesn't then people can just ignore the movie; it isn't like there aren't plenty of other Batman's to love (or hate).

While I have no strong opinions one way or the other over the casting choice, I couldn't help but imagine George Clooney sending Affleck a message that simply read: "You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" after I heard the news.

I feel like his Batman could be really really cheesy. That might be a good thing? It would make for a fun movies anyways. Some Bat fans might freakout tho if he's not ultra serious.

Considering a great deal of the online comments basically said that Heath Ledger would never be a good joker/the film would bomb/etc, I'm reserving any judgement about Ben Affleck as Batman.

Though I have the feeling that even if he does well in the role, if the film itself sucks, somehow he's still going to get the flack for that instead of it going where it's due.

I'm one of those loners who liked Daredevil lots (way better than the Spider-Man films) and chose Affleck over Damon from the beginning (like, zero contest). I happy danced over his success with The Town and Argo.

I can't wait to see his Batman. I'll be over here in my corner if anyone wants to join!

Ngl I'm not very excited about ANOTHER Batman reboot, probably because I recently saw 'em. I actually feel pretty burnt out with Batman. Otoh if the movie titles are Batfleck, I will watch the movie.

i can't even objectively say whether i think it'd work or not because i just hate ben afleck so fucking much. i am not the type of person to hate celebrities for no reason but the sight of his face makes me want to punch his mouth off and throw him into an active volcano, as if my body is tapping into some kind of primal set of instincts reserved solely for a situation when my survival hinges on my ability to destroy ben afleck

I'm sure someone has already said and/or said it better for me but, personally, I think Ben Affleck is a terrible fucking actor. I don't care if he won an oscar for 'Argo' so everyone is kissing his ass because, guess what, this is a totally different character with a very specific personality. I don't think Affleck could pull it off even on his best day and it pisses me off that because Hollywood is kissing his ass right now he gets the part.
