I'm so worried about one of the characters in your secret right now. Also, fuck Walt and his sociopathic self-righteousness. He's downright delusional at this moment, still lying to himself that he's helping his family. Meth cooks who kill people standing in their way don't really qualify for the benefit of the doubt.

What about Skyler?

[personal profile] seventh_seal 2013-09-15 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
What about her? She was near suicidal at one point. Now she's succumbed to her pathologically lying husband for what she perceives is the good of her family. Are you saying Marie should condone her covering for Walt?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
So you think Skyler deserves to have her children taken away from her like Marie wanted?

Yes.

[personal profile] seventh_seal 2013-09-15 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It's hard to say what Skyler deserves. I think she deserves to get some therapy and in time be able to lead a happy, fulfilled life.

But should her children by taken away from her? At this point, yes.

Junior must be almost 18. Holly deserves to live in a home which isn't threatened to be burned down by her father's unhinged ex-partners in crime.

This argument shouldn't be about what Skyler deserves or Marie's questionable motives, this argument should be about what is best for the kids. Which is probably none of these people.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I don't even think that Jesse's thwarted attempt to burn down the house was the trigger point for when they should have been taken. The cartel stalking Walt's footsteps was much scarier to me - Jesse wouldn't have taken action to deliberately hurt Walt Jr. or Holly themselves; if they were home, I have no doubt that Jesse would have backed off immediately. You think the twins would have taken that much care? Or Gus, who threatened them directly?

The kids have been in danger for a long time and the question here isn't why Skyler had no choice or Marie's motives - it's about what's safest for the kids.

And now Walt made sure she wouldn't get in trouble with him.

What's your point?

[personal profile] seventh_seal 2013-09-15 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok, look at silly me, falling for this troll secret.

Hank had to come and fuck everything up

That's rich and also a damn obvious cry for attention.

OP

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Not a troll secret.

Things had just calmed down and gone back to normal, then Hank discovered Walt was Heisenberg and went after him, and now things are spiraling out of control.

Yep, Jesse was the picture of Zen serenity at the start of the show.

So maybe Walt would've wanted Jesse gone no matter what Hank did or didn't know. Lydia would've still been pissed about the deteriorating quality of the trademark blue meth so the price for killing Jesse would've still been Walt's help. So odds are Walt would've still gone back to cooking.

Also, I think that criminals should be punished no matter how many cute little kids they have or how related they are to you or whether they bought you a mansion and a dozen cars from the money they made by the aforementioned criminal activity.

you're an idiot. how is hank doing his job the problem here? if walt hadn't broken the law and MURDERED THE SHIT OUT OF A BUNCH OF PEOPLE, none of this would have happened.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
again how many people has walter killed that weren't already as bad/guilty as he was

[personal profile] seventh_seal 2013-09-15 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Again? Have we talked about this before?

Dude, Walt poisoned a little kid. He watched Jesse's gf choke to death. Also, you shouldn't kill people, period. Even if you consider them as bad as yourself. Maybe Walt should've killed himself according to your logic a while ago, then?

walt is clearly a shitty person, but saying he's left a trail of poor victims behind him in bullshit. he's literally not any worse than any other person we've seen involved in the meth empire.

[personal profile] seventh_seal 2013-09-15 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I fail to see your point. Or logic. It's not bullshit to say he's left a trail of poor victims - it's the truth. AGAIN (I now get why you must hear this often) - Brock. Jesse' gf. The prisoners, as the anon below mentioned.

We haven't seen most of his victims as intimately as Walt, so who are we to judge them? Just the fact that a person is surrounded by people who also do bad things doesn't excuse the bad things the person does.

da

I'd argue that he's way worse than Jesse... Worse than Skinny Pete or Badger, worse even than Mike. It's arguable whether he's worse than Gus. Gus has canonically threatened kids and has used them in his empire, but it's not like Walt saw much of a problem with using kids as mules either. He didn't think it was a major issue for Todd to kill that one kid. At least with Gus, any threats towards kids were under very controllable conditions: Do X and I'll retaliate with Y. Walt just acts without thinking and people around him are hurt as a result, completely outside of his control.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 08:44 pm (UTC)(link)
By that argument, it's fine to kill him.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Jesse's GF, Jane. Some of those prison inmates probably. I can't imagine they were all horrible.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Arguably everyone who purchased meth made with the recipe he developed. His actions have nearly gotten Jesse killed several times as well. Then there's Jane, of course, whose death caused her father to eventually commit suicide. And the danger and emotional trauma (plus attempted sexual assault) he's committed against Skyler.

Walt's a very charismatic character and a fun one to watch. I don't think he's 100% evil to his core but I do think he's arrogant, self centered, and deluded. And very very dangerous.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Plus the people on the airplane! Were there other people on the plane?

(Anonymous) 2013-09-15 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
192 people, I think. Or was it flight 192? It was a lot of people killed, anyway. I'm not sure we can fully put their deaths on Walt's shoulders but his actions certainly contributed to what occurred.
