Episodes/arcs that you refuse to accept as canon?

(Anonymous) 2013-10-28 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you have any? Why do you refuse to accept them, if you do?

(Doesn't have to just be TV shows, of course).

The Kahvi miniseries from Elfquest. That madness never occurred.

I don't accept any Silent Hill that isn't 1-2-3 or Shattered Memories.

Significant portions of Voyager, especially that stupid bit with the Void or the Expanse or whatever it was. Janeway's character was one that I loved from the beginning, and Chakotay too, and more than the others I felt like the writers tended to shaft them for ~*~*~DRAMA~*~*~ rather than keeping them in-character.

The "Mel" arc in Frasier. She was just so, so unlikeable.

Also Irene Adler's character in BBC Sherlock. I either pretend that episode didn't happen, or headcanon that this woman isn't the real Irene Adler, but an identity thief. I have no problem with the character, but she's not Irene Adler. I still hate the phone password, though. That absolutely never happened.

The episode in Supernatural where Becky drugged Sam and married him. Ugh. No.

I usually ignore as canon everything that happened after I quit watching completely/regularly, so as far as I'm considered, Supernatural ended at season 3, Teen Wolf at season 2, and I'm ignoring most of what happened during the last season of Babylon 5 and last episodes of DS9.

And I agree with the Kahvi comment above and add other miniseries, such as Wavedancers.

The way Stabler left SVU. I reject your reality and replace it with one in which he and Benson are still bffs off-screen and she's totally not pining for him dammit.

This thing written for Last Exile, it takes place between the Travelers from the Hourglass manga, and Fam the Silverwing: http://over-the-sky.net/main/media/novels/friends.php (This is a fan translated.)

It's like terrible fanfiction, and I'm pretty sure it screws up the timeline set up for the entire series. I like did Ros though, it sucks that she was just there for more pointless Dio angst.

On CSI, there was no way Vega was a dirty cop. I also completely ignore the last episode of Kung Fu: The Legend Continues because after the show spent so much time reinforcing how much being a cop meant to him, I just do not buy that Peter would quit.

Most of S3 of Veronica Mars. It was character assassination for almost everyone and didn't even feel like the same show anymore.

A Scandal in Belgravia (BBC Sherlock) Technically it's not Canon anyway, but that wasn't even canon for how they had started the show.

The point where Deep Space Nine started blatantly ripping off Babylon Five.

Even B5 doesn't escape completely unscathed; one of the TV movies with Lyta Alexander was so awful, I have blocked the title from my mind.

Anything written by Darin Morgan on X-Files (yes, yes, burn the heretic etc.) and especially the one STARRING him.

The final season of TNG b/c that was just painful, man. Although not nearly as painful as Insurrection.

Season 5 of the A-Team, don't get me wrong it was still fun in it's own way but it was not the same as the earlier seasons and I just didn't like it as much.

Not an arc, but Harry name his kid after Snape. Never going to sit right with me and I just prefer to pretend it didn't actually happen.

Anything after the episode of Bones where it was revealed that ZACH was the new apprentice to the serial killer guy. Just...wth, wtf, NO, NO, NO.

Also - Spike did *not* go to Africa to get his soul, he went to get the chip out, and Shepherd Book did not die.
