A reminder of the line-up:

Hey, look it. It's this durn movie R.O.T.O.R. It's about a killer robocop in Texas and it's pretty much the most Texas thing that Texas'd. It's not a very good movie, but it's hilarious in that '80's B-movie way. And, honestly, everyone should experience the majesty of the other robot character, Sassy Robot Cop, who wears a cute little hat and sighs a lot in the cutest way.

THEN, it's MANBORG. Manborg fights, like, demon Nazis and the bad guy is called Draculon. Also, Manborg and his friends battle in a gladiatorial arena. It's an newer film that fashions itself as a homage to B-movies while being low-budget itself. (IMO, it does a pretty good job at being exactly what it wants to be.)

ANd, Eliminators , a movie that is pretty much everything and the kitchen sink, robots, androids, rowdy river boat captains and ninjas. And more. So much more. Also, Denise Crosby (Tasha Yar from Star Trek TNG) reinforces the fact that she really likes androids, especially fully functional ones.

A little while ago, I posted a link to a tumblr blog called whitepeoplewithbraids, and I did think it was a troll blog, and other people did too, because that's just stupid.

Then, I found this art for Sleepy Hollow with Ichabod Crane getting his hair put in cornrows by Jenny Mills, and most of the comments were about how "white people with cornrows is appropriation!"

I can't with people. Goddammit.

Weirdest Interview Ever...

So, yesterday I mentioned I had an interview today. Well...

It was weird as fuck. First I get there about 5-10 minutes before the interview is scheduled. The woman interviewing me is apparently working in another area of the store and asks me to sit and wait for a second. I waited for over a half hour after my interview was scheduled to start.

During the entire interview she never looked up and so we never had eye contact. Then, near the end of the interview, she mentions that the position is a seasonal one. This was something that hadn't been listed on the website, and that I was just finding out then. Since the site said it was a full-time permanent job.

I have no idea how it went, but I'm not sure I even want the job if that interview was any indication. *sigh*

Anyone have any weirder interview stories?

So, I got two secrets outside the cut this week and I feel pretty chuffed, even if it's kind of a random process. And the last few times I've sent in a bunch of secrets each time I've got at least one outside the cut as well. So thank you Case, for making my day!

Anyone else feel good when their secret is the first on the page? Never had one outside the cut but want to? Feel good when your secret sparks the most discussion on a day, even if it was blatant wank bait? Have elaborate conspiracy theories about how Case orders the secrets?

I took my laptop to work and stashed it in my desk so I could take it to the fast food place 3 minutes away and work on my nano/update my word count on my dinner break. I just gotten about 2 blocks away when I realized I left it there.

And did I go back and get it? No, I decided it would be easier to hit a drive-thru and just come home. It wasn't. I got here, ate and had about 5 minutes left before I needed to be leaving, which wasn't enough time to write anything, so I came here instead.

FUCKING ROOMATES

I just really need someplace to rant about my roommates, because they are being the most entitled, spoiled little jackasses that I've had the displeasure of living with. What are your roommate problems right now, F!S?

These girls are generally pretty laid back and nice, but holy fucking god does the end of the semester turn them into horrible, douchey little pigs. They seem to think that the extra end of the semester schoolwork allows them to not clean up their own messes. I have more work than they do-- I'm a graduate student, they're undergrads-- and yet I still manage to clean my own messes.

Yesterday, one of my roommates left for the weekend without cleaning up her dishes-- which had been sitting there for a week. My other roommate took off for the night at about 4 PM, when she knew that it was trash week, and my other roommate had left for the weekend.

So it was up to me to take out the entire apartment's trash. My by fucking self. It wouldn't be such a big deal if it were one bag, but they create a lot of trash, and I had a bunch of bags. Plus one of them just had like a shopping bag full of trash that exploded over the lawn, leaving me to pick up her gross fucking tissues and Q-tips.

This morning I woke up to a huge pool of mysterious green liquid on the kitchen floor. She had cooked herself breakfast, and then gone back to her room, so I figured she had seen it. I left it alone for about an hour, to give my roommate the chance to clean it back up. That didn't happen, so I wiped it up, and cleaned the whole floor while I was at it.

This has just sort of been the latest in a string of fuckstick incidents. They haven't touched their dirty dishes for about a week, and the one girl has a habit of whining about stuff suggestively, and then doesn't help you if you move to do it.

Like whining about the dirty kitchen floor (which is about 8 feet square), sighing that she had to clean it but would need help to do it. And then when I and my other roommate looked at her dubiously, and said it was something we both did separately without others' help. So I swept and mopped the floor, and she didn't come in once to give a hand.

I generally tend to do most of the cleaning in the apartment anyway, but this week has been a goddamn nightmare. Fuck me. I'm tempted to just hide out in my room and not deal with their shit, even if it does mean we get mice or cockroaches. I'm so fucking done with their filth.
