8) Actually, I remember discussing RENT with my family and coming to the conclusion that while it's certainly DIFFERENT from La Boehme (sp?), it's different in an okay way.

Okay, so I've been lurking this place for a while now but I kind of have to comment on this one. (Star Wars EU secret! So pleased to see that.)

I agree with the following:
Jaina and Zekk being together, but not in that creepy rubbing-forearms-bug-orgy way. Ewewew. Of course, I also kinda ship Jaina/Jag. :X I didn't want to, but I can't help but like the guy now. Even if I've shipped Jaina/Zekk since reading YJK when I was 12...

Leia not being pathetic.. very much yes. She (and even Han, to an extent) has been put so much in the background, almost like an afterthought lately! They're boring now, with the roles and characterization they've been given in the latest books. That's just not right.

I dunno about Mara/Jacen... again, I've always paired Jacen with Tenel Ka since YJK (so shocked when that became canon :\ and now look at what he did to it. argh).

I could go on forever ranting about LotF, though, seriously. What are they thinking? There is so much wrong with it that it's difficult to even begin. So, in summary: I hate it too. :P

I mean, I haven't even spent more than two minutes in the online fandom and I can tell you that plenty of people know that it's based off of La Boheme. In fact, most of the time, whenever there's wank in the fandom, it's because people are assuming that no one knows that it was based off of La Boheme and then everyone points out that . . . actually, yeah we do. It's not like Larson made it a secret that it was based off of it. There's actually an entire song pretty much referencing it, perhaps you heard it, it's called La Vie Boheme.

I mean, you're allowed to not like what you don't like, but don't just assume that everyone else in the fandom is a blithering uncultured moron just because you don't think they have an appropriate appreciation of the source material.

Y'know, for once, I'd like to see a fan of the book show up somewhere and wank about how the opera sucks 'cause it was just a ripoff of the book and Puccini is nowhere near as godlike as the author. Just as a change of pace.

Also, there is no way in hell that RENT is the worst musical ever. Funny Girl and The Dead are the worst musicals ever. And the worst musical-made-movie was Phantom.

32. I will NEVER NOT LOVE SLAYERS THOUGH. O___O Seriously, I saw it back in 1996/1997 but even when I was obsessed with it, I wasn't really active in fandom. I had a website dedicated to Zelgadis for several years. It's long gone now. XD

I also remember watching old school Saber Marionette J around the same time? Maybe a little earlier/later. I haven't seen it in years though but I thought it was a fun show.

But you're absolutely right, there is not much love for older shows anymore. Certainly not in my group of friends anyway. ;__;

32. Y'know, it's funny the things that stick with you. Even after all these - what, 5? 6? - years, it still hurts that Yui never really acknowledged Suboshi. They were my ship throughout the series. I wanted something. And then he had to die like that... and it killed me a little on the inside.

I still like the series... but after Nuriko's death and prematurely discovering about Suboshi's death from the intrawebz, it lost its magic.

She used to draw other things, occasionally a decently refined piece of work - now it's all quickly coloured sketchy art with stupid unfunny jokes about the same characters (who all act retarded) over and over. >_< It's damn annoying.

+ THE GAME IS INCREDIBLE. I love Chopin regardless what they made of him. I'm glad the game gives him so much respect. Despite the fact they made him bishy. It's Japan :( We should know by now.

+ I never hated Ovan. The fact that he WASN'T pure evil and only wanted Haseo to defeat him in order to save Aina.. ;3; While I'm not a fan of the pairing, I like the fact that it's a father&son kinda thing.

9. I've never thought a lot about Itsuki because man, Kyon called all my attention and love. I can't say if Itsuki's supposed to be like that since I haven't read the novels, but he does kind of seem the one of the least developed characters. Until he shows something more than indifference or amusement (or both at the same time) I can't have a (canon) opinion of him, but I guess people may also like him because of the mystery. Funny enough, I love paranormal mystery guys, and I never care for Itsuki lulz

25. I like the comics, to be honest. It's like... seeing a comic version of any Org XIII fanfic in the Pit. ROTF I dunno, it is a major assraping but some of the jokes actually crack me up. The court thing was fucking awesome.

What I can't stand is that the original artist probably gets like no credit because she lets her friend post up the comics on her account despite the fact all the friend does is color it. And I think the original artist is perfectly capable of coloring her own stuff, I think she's just letting her friend mooch off her talent. :/

Agreed to 25. A few of the comics have been giggle-worthy and I have that train wreck syndrome where I just have to look at all of them... but it bugs me that the original artist doesn't get much credit and someone has become super famous just for shoving color over the lines. I know it's not completely her fault in that when she started coloring them it was probably just a quick for fun sort of thing and she can't control all of the people now adding the pictures to their favourites but argh anyway. Annoying.

I also usually argue that I'd love to see more IC stuff from them if just because the OOC all the time bit (along with recent character bashing) almost seems like "I enjoy the characters (or pokemon hybrid offspring of the characters) for what we've done with them" rather than ever taking a moment to enjoy the characters for who/what they are. But that's everywhere in fandom and nitpicking to the max.
