3. FUCK YEAH AKAGI!!! I learned how to play mahjong because of this series, and yes, it's even more incredibly awesome once you know what's going on.

9. Canon!Itsuki is my favorite character, because he's so mysterious. He even said himself in the novels that he's constantly under a mask, and his own personal motives are rarely revealed.

24. It was done so much better in the manga, but oh man, NaruGaa. ♥ I think it's pretty popular though, as far as slash pairings go? I guess for people who only watch the anime, the fanservice atm is way high. 8D The only thing that bothers me is when people idealize it a little bit too much and pretend that they aren't awkward or wouldn't have any relationship issues but ugh people do that with all their OTPs.

I'd say it's in the middle; certainly it's not as popular as the major sips like SasuNaru, NaruHina, NaruSaku, SasuSaku, etc., but it's not like it has a tiny fanbase, either - there are a decent amount of supporters.

I agree that supporters tend to deviate from the paths of IC and logic. You can start off with a good concept (e.g., Naruto and Gaara would understand each other well because they both are/have been jinchuuriki.) and over time it tends to become exaggerated until you have something quite apart from what you began with. I think also people tend to forget that while yes, they do have an emotional connection, they really don't talk or interact much in canon, and if people want to write fic for them they have to develop that connection; it's not just given to you.

Frankly, some of the fanfiction I see on FF.Net utterly terrifies me. D:

I think it's that he has that quiet sweet vulnerability that appeals to many girls. It's like crack. Seriously.

If it's an actor-related thing, and not entirely character-based...check him out in Wonderfalls. He has that tousled bed-head thing that just...it's just great.

19. HOLY SHIT YES. As cool as it was to have Viral piloting Gurren, I'd been kind of hoping that near the end he'd get Enki(du)(du) back, give it some pimp upgrades, and use that to kick ass, either with the Gurren-Dan, or as a lone wolf prong-attack thing. OTP <3<3

29. I don't really know, either. I think my friend Manda is sort of a BNF of the Tutu fandom, but I'm not really sure (and she'd probably deny it if I told her so XD)

32. Princess Tutu fandom is still plenty active, and it stopped airing in Japan back in 03, I think. So is Death Note, and that recently ended in Japan. I agree that more of the oldschool fandoms should be active, but I wouldn't say that only ones airing in Japan are.

15. Augh, yes. Hearing about the plot for the game and then seeing a commercial for it on TV...I was SO FUCKING CONFUSED AND DISTURBED. (Not to mention it gave me all these other weird ideas for composer-based games...Beethoven would SO have a fighting game.)

5. I feel your pain, there's a lot of characters in this that really deserve more attention but are bound not to get it because of the shape of the main storyline. Oddly enough though I can't seem to find anyone, KonoSetsu fan or not, who will talk to me about. (^_^)

10. Another note of sympathy. I enjoyed the "NJO" but yeah...farmboy's time is UP! I think Allston is an amazing author and I have a soft spot for some of Travisssssss' military prose but for the most part so much of this, and definitely *all* of "DNT" is a big DO NOT WANT. I'm also resigned to the fact that Jag Fel will never be depicted in character again. *le sigh*
