And those prices others listed are precisely why I hope fanfiction is never bought. I can't afford $50-$100 for someone to write a fanfic story. Hell, I was debating buying the $7 book I bought today, and that was with a gift card! I like that fanfic is an open free for all of people just having fun and that I can find things (not a lot, as I tend to prefer female characters to male and femslash to slash, but enough) that I enjoy without having to pay from my nonexistent funds.

Re: Sleep disorders

I had a few nasty episodes of somnambulism when I was younger, but that seems to have subsided. (And by nasty, I mean "Had to get a single room at college because I scared the living shit out of my poor roommate.")

These days, I snore at a volume that cannot be considered normal, and there's some evidence of sleep apnea. I'm waiting on a proper sleep study.

Yes, because being Catholic automatically makes you the worst person every. : /

Girl Guides Canada sells cookies. They are nothing like the USA versions and you can't buy them online.

Which is a crying shame because holy cow I love them and the Girl Scout versions are horrible to me.

I don't know what it is, they're just plain ol' chocolate and vanilla sandwich cookies but ... but...

Glad you're okay. Stuff like that sucks. I once tripped on one of those cement parking stops and was lucky I didn't kill myself. Busted up my knee pretty bad.

It's just first-years; the rest are sophomores, juniors and seniors, like usual. I've never heard anyone explicitly say that it's because the word has "men" in it, but I mean, it makes sense.

DA--Depends on how tall and/or muscular they are. Also, it's their body, random anons' opinions count for jack-all.

I think anyone who puts actors on a pedestal is a fucking idiot. They're prone to the same -isms as anyone else, and the gasp shock horror NOOOOOOO EVILLLLLLL is just stupid, as stupid as the OMG HDU PERFECTIONNNNNNN

Yes. Do you really have insurance for everything? Can you just walk into a store and buy a gun? What the hell is flossing?

Once you drink it, you can still regard it as part of me (you!). But the other version is too TAME to be evil. :P

How cold porcelain can be.
When you close the damn cabinet and the hinges are a little too tight or too loose and it doesn't close all the way or bounces back a little.
Getting home and realizing that one piece of hair you'd thought you'd gotten to lie flat had just waited until you weren't looking to pop back up again.
The TV networks schedule timing issues that cause the DVR to cut off that last 30 seconds of a show - a lot can happen in 30 seconds, especially big reveals.

I wasn't shocked about dating in American movies - I thought, sure, you can ask someone out to do something and see if it works. But later on I was indeed shocked when I realized that's the main way to try a new partner. I found myself at a bit of a loss trying to explain to my American friends that I do date but have never been on a date with someone I hadn't hooked up with before. And finding the idiom hook up was my way out, because now I can describe how it usually goes: you're somewhere doing whatever with friends or alone, then you talk to someone and you hook up.

Disclaimer: I'm Brazilian.

That is pretty creepy. But then, getting out of a pattern that you find stressful or an environment you associate with episodic symptoms tends to go a long way to improving mental health in general, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was somewhat the same for sleep disorders.

That's an interesting story though, anon. I'm glad it resolved for you.

Thank you!

But there's still free fanart. I don't think free fanfics would suddenly disappear just because of people accepting commissions here either. :O

it's as if hypothetical Irak hollywood would take King Kong in 60 years and change the climax into King Kong climbing the world trade center, so air planes have to crash into the tower to fight him

if King Kong was the personification of 9/11

Re: Sleep disorders

I used to have a lot of trouble falling asleep.

And I'd yell a ton in my sleep, which my parents assumed to be from night terrors. I hardly ever remembered my dreams, though, so I can't confirm one way or another.
