Your character is your character. Who the hell cares what Klar and Sashamya think? If you have an idea and you love that idea run with that idea. They don't own the world. They don't own ideas.

Ridicule only makes one grow stronger. And if Klar and Sashamya were to ever call you out in anyway just because you have a character like that....than what the fuck honestly makes them so great? They'd just be another self righteous jackass in my book.

9 -- Oh god, I know what you mean. At the time I was writing my undergrad thesis about literary patronage in the works of Horace and Vergil, I was writing a fanfic where the poets Vergil and Horace and their patron Maecenas had drunken three-way Saturnalia sex.

I named the fanfic "LOLGAYSEX.doc" because I was so terrified that if I called it something like "maecenas" or "vergilhorace", I would accidentally send the wrong document to my thesis adviser.

If my professors ever saw the fanfic I write about Roman poets, I'd probably have to drop out of school.

LOLGAYSEX.doc is the most brilliant file name ever.

#14, unicorn people aren't exactly things somebody has a patent on. I had some unicorn people in my stuff at one time. So...if he's your unicorn guy, go for it. I don't think it matters.

I have no idea who Klar and Sashamya are or what they draw, but there's at least one whole book series about anthropomorphic unicorn people (IN SPACE!) called Acorna: the Unicorn Girl (http://www.amazon.com/Acorna-Unicorn-Girl-Anne-Mccaffrey/dp/0061057894/ref=pd_sim_b) that's been around for years. No one has the market cornered on unicorn people. Write want you to, and let it make you happy.

I've read Acorna, actually. Just the first one, but still. That--along with The Last Unicorn and some artwork my mother did when I was little--are what inspired my unicorn guy. That's the book that really helped me solidify his appearance, although he still looks wildly different from Acorna and her kind.

But Klar and Sashamya will KILL ME.

Klar and her ilk are a bunch of pretentious snobs pretending that they invented cute fuzzy art. You'll find people like them everywhere. Next thing you know, they'll be accusing the author of the Acorna books of omg STEALING their CONCEPT.

Do your thing, and damn the doubters. If you're not tracing their work, they and their mindless horde of fangirls can shove it up their collective dA rectum. If they come after you, report them for harassment. dA would do us all a favor if they banned Klar and her abusive minions.

DA won't do anything, because Klar, while soapboxing about "da amurican puritans!111one", is actually paying to be on an American site, and they don't want to ban someone who has the prepubescent crowd enthralled... and, alternately, they don't want to ban someone who pays them.
