14. I do understand where they're coming from. I do. It's annoying when one of your characters becomes popular and people start copying. If the character means a lot to you, it can even be upsetting. And yeah, they're both really popular and people always take others' ideas instead of creating their own. I really do understand their point of view. It's hard to be popular. I was popular within a circle of 25 or so artists and even there, people ganked my way of drawing and my characters. :\
But they DO come off as elitist and selfish and OMG U COPYYYYYY. Especially to people who've never been ripped before.
Someone ripped of MY unicorn girl. I was upset, cause she's pretty individual.

I dunno. Maybe you can alter your character in a bit so that he doesn't resemble Pallu and company as much, if you're comfortable with "giving in" that way to avoid conflict or whatever. Make him BETTER, even.
I had an anthro unicorn girl (me and my two friends, incidentally, had three uni girls all as friends) two or three years before the Umicorms. I was a little peeved when their gai uni boiz suddenly got popular, but hey, that's what happens with BNFs in the community. I just keep loving MY girl because I KNOW I had her first.

Adjust yours to be different from the self-made cliché Umicorms if you're comfortable doing so. Your character deserves to shine just as much as Pallu. I bet he's better, too. ;D

14. Do it anyways, 14! They can't make it so no-one ever makes another unicorn boy ever. They can't. Unicorn-people aren't new. Cloven, furry-legged people with horns are REALLY not new. I had the same thing happen, actually. I created a character long before I started using the Internet. A brown raccoon with purple hair. The first picture I uploaded to DeviantART (I'd uploaded him to other archives previously), someone stated that he looked a lot like Sasha. Even though, you know, she's a totally different species, lol. I'd known of the character but had never seen any similarity. I knew how militant she was about "zomgcopying!" (A lot of people from Artail are, actually. It was a huge problem for awhile)

So I redesigned him. In the end I think it was a good thing, because he has an even more unique design (at least, IMO?) even among other raccoons. So it all worked out.

If your character is a GOOD character, he will be versatile enough that you can make changes to him without affecting what made him attractive to you in the first place. Make him more unique and you'll thank yourself in the end.

(Char in question is my icon, BTW. I'm sure I'll get comments saying "well now he looks like [insert char I've likely never heard of here]" XD)

18. I will never figure out why the FFVI fans act like FFVII looked that much better (the exboyfriend bitched nonstop about it for some reason =( ). Honestly, they both look pretty bad in game to me - good for their time, yeah, but their time was more than ten years ago. And personally, I think the 2d of FFVI held up better over the years, but I'm a 2d whore. But FFVI has the much better concept art. Much prettier men, and a more capable artist. Nomura's stuff got better later, but the FFVII designs are so "oh em gee recycled animu plz?" =( They make me sad.

In a more relevant statement, Sabin was definitely the hotter of the two. =(

26. This cracks me up, because I can't watch the Japanese version without going "TAMAKI!" everytime Light speaks. But then again, I am watching the Death Note Dub because I adore its cast, the only thing that would make it more awesome would be to give Scott McNeil a part, than my fangirly dreams would be complete.
