Re: Interesting Secret Thread?

I hope it works out for you!

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
This is simply the best. Everything about this is the best.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 10:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Wait, what? Any references?

Guess we live in a different culture. It's not considered okay for men to pee in the yard/garden. In the woods on a hike or a camping trip, sure, but not just out in the everyday life. It's pretty gross to think people are just peeing wherever they feel like it.

Re: Orgasm from g-spot or prostate

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Did you miss the prostate stimulation bit? It wasn't a strictly vaginal question.

(Anonymous) 2014-04-05 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it was actually a great narrative decision. It's a shame about the greater context of what media in general does, but this one specific death wasn't business as usual. Sure it stings, but we just have to keep asking for more characters like Bev.

Or maybe we were all too busy making gifsets and huge meta posts to remember that. Who knows.

It's not that weird to not want to just leap into something because it seems like you should.

If I had to take a guess, the reason you're not as interested as you think you might otherwise be is because there's probably something you're detecting about her mannerisms or personality that doesn't really turn you on. If you have recently met her you just might be intuiting something about her that you would find incompatible despite all the physical attraction points lining up.

Having the hots for someone you wouldn't really get along with in a relationship isn't an uncommon thing by any means. If you're both the kind of people to be okay with it, maybe just have casual sex?

YES. This is exactly what I have always wanted.

Yeah, two: one in the middle, one at the end of the end.

There are good ideologies, and there are bad ideologies. Different people think different things, but unfortunately I don't have a magical argument separating people defending gay marriage from people defending the Old Testament. I just think that gay marriage is good but the Old Testament is bad. Somebody else might feel otherwise. My opinion of them would be pretty low, though.

I think the problem with the gay marriage analogy is that all arguments against gay marriage are ultimately about gay people. They are NOT about gay marriage as an institution. Arguments against the Old Testament, though? Are not about religious people.

eta: but what I said downthread stands. Point taken.

Oh, so the mains ARE all men, after all. I've seen this show heralded as one of the best! shows! on tv! re: female characters, but those don't sound like great offerings, tbh.

:< It's never easy, no matter if you saw it coming or not. Take care.

Acceptable.

OK, great! All the articles that I've seen that would probably have this information are labeled "spoiler heavy" and none of my friends have seen it yet. Thank you! :)

lmao whoever told you that was a liar

I mean, it is an improvement over the source material because two characters who were men in the books are women in the show in order to get some more gender diversity.

But um.

Yeah, the show is fundamentally about two white dudes and their relationship.

Re: Interesting Secret Thread?

Well, I think it gets associated with "punk" which is supposedly bad. But the thing with my sister was that she was totally the "punk nerd" stereotype, so probably the most "bad" thing she ever did was fail to return a library book. It wasn't like she dyed her hair and then started chain smoking and stuff.

My love for the fact that there is a section of a Wikipedia page dedicated to Daniel Jackson's deaths knows no bounds. :D

I think Starfighter is fun (and pretty), and I hope Hamlet Machine can pull it off. I think the idea is cool and if the images on the KS site are what it's going to look like, it'll be very visually appealing.

I, however, have no money to spare and probably won't buy it, either - but yay! for HM putting their art/story/fiction out there! :)

This is my kitchen not too long after we moved in. See that dark brown line across the floor? That's the subfloor under where the vinyl squares were chipping and peeling off the floor. It was worse and stretched almost all the way across the floor by the time we had the money to replace it.

This is the floor under the stove after we scrubbed it and the beginning of the fresh plywood we laid down.

Beginning of the new floor.

New floor!
