Way, way too much because my tolerance is very high. I've never full blown drunk, either, and I don't get hangovers. All things considered, I don't like to drink much since it's too tempting to drink a lot (alcoholism runs in the family).

It's the trainwreck effect. We can't help ourselves but watch wank unfold just like we can't help ourselves watching a car crash IRL. Being in a fandom that doesn't have a lot of drama allows us to enjoy what little there is from afar, but not risk ending up becoming collateral damage ourselves.

Castle: Castle/Beckett. They're fine on the show, but a little goes a long way, so I really don't need the supplementary fic versions. Plus, fic has a way of being either all about PWP or "Let us angst over our mommy/daddy issues."

Most people aren't into reading stuff like that, so I guess it's to be expected. A pity, really -- there's some amazing stories to be had; my personal favorite is the one about Gunnlaug and Hrafn. Do you have a favorite, OP (or anyone else!)?
