From what I've seen on the DA fandom on tumblr, they are incredibly SJW-like. A recent thing I remember was a confession about someone not finding the love interests attractive in DA3, and it received a lot of indignant responses expressing a "how dare you not like diversity" mindset.

I haven't read this particular site, but it's been my experience that absolute rules for writing fiction are usually not as absolute and universal as the rule-maker thinks they are.

In all complete seriousness, if you are having that level of anger issues, you need to get help for anger issues. (And I say this as someone who has dealt with anger issues.)

Thank you.

I tend to agree. I hate writing advice websites taking the "absolute" route. Because then they end up giving false advice and spreading writing myths.

Interesting. I suspect, OP, that you might generally be an upstanding sort, hence Hufflepuff being an option, but you acknowledge and embrace a cutthroat side of yourself, hence the choice you made.

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
And? That has no bearing whatsoever on my comment.

Cersei is a horrible person, raised by an amoral father and Robert was a broken, alcoholic man with rage issues. Their marriage was anything but happy on both sides, no one denies that.

That doesn't absolve either of them from their horrible behavior.
He knew what he was doing, Cersei notes that he often apologized when he sobered. Asking for an annulment would have been a much better solution.

We saw how well it worked for both of them.

Yup. Some of my favorites have great stories and I get sidetracked when looking for a recipe.

Many a speedy recovery to her. And ouch! that all of her teeth but three are gone. Poor thing.

Re: what was your first fandom?

Star Trek. That was the first property I wrote fic for and actively collected. I was fifteen, I think, and a friend got me into it.

I haven't been around in like a month but I saw your first couple posts. That sucks that she's in so much pain :( But that's great news about her partial!

Take care, OP <3

What are your thoughts?

For me, I like the idea, but I'm not sure I'm on board with the sometimes slanted language and weasel words used in the articles. If the language used there at least appeared less biased, I'd add it to my arsenal of resources to combat misinformation.

Number one. Its how I feel right now anyway. I want OUR country in a far better place and actually taking care of itself before we try and help anyone else. Its why I only donate within the country and for organizations that actually used said money for help. Otherwise? Nope.

I ignore all of the signal boosts on tumblr cause if it doesn't directly help our country, just nope. Someone else I follow will reblog it from else where and it'll spread without my help.

It seems that most fandoms tend to suffer from both extremes.

It's either crazy sjws that will crucify you for every sneeze or immature people that think sexist/racist/homophobic views are perfectly acceptable. No middle ground.

They did explain it - it was his MI6 handler.

I did like that he had to fake his death, so hopefully they won't go there with SH.

Why do I get the feeling that you'd claim she was lying about him beating her too if it hadn't been shown from precious Ned's upstanding POV?

I think I'm gonna write some AoS/MCU fic.

Re: Tumblr!

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 02:36 am (UTC)(link)
On my main, personal blog, I have 376 followers, on my one fandom specific blog, I'm at 909 followers and on my texts from last night (for the same fandom as the fandom specific blog), I'm at 1540 followers. There is xover between all three of those but I can't tell you how much. I only follow 89 blogs atm and try to keep it under 100. I have a few followers that I talk to from time to time (either we've mutually followed each other for a while, or we share strong opinions on certain topics).

When I check my blog in the morning, there's 70-100 posts; after work it's almost always 100+. I just scroll though reading most; some I skip cus I realise I'm not interested in. I use xkit to block tags that annoy me/I don't give a flying fuck about but that some of my followers do (like Dr Who).

Ok, thanks. That's what I was thinking, but then mekkio mentioned wondering who it was and I thought maybe I misunderstood something.

I liked that, too. After the past couple episodes I had a feeling they were going to go that route, so maybe they won't go there with Sherlock. (Not that I'd mind but they've done it in so many adaptations that it'd be nice to have something different.)

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
Thank god I'm not the only one who feels that way. DA isn't perfect, but it does a pretty damn good job, and when it doesn't, the devs apologize and do better the next game round. But it also means people lash out and make the most benign things about sexism or homophobia or racism.

Stupid wrong opinions about a fandom that make you rage?

(Anonymous) 2014-05-17 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
So trudging through the wilds of fandom, there's always stupid opinions. They may not be the majority (though they sometimes are), they may not be the loudest (though they ususally are), but they just get you so righteously angry that you simply have to correct the Internet. Have you had those moments?

Mine, right now:

I'm rewatching No. 6 the anime now, and an uncharacteristic splurge of masochism, I read through a bunch of comments claiming that the main characters, Shion and Rat, aren't gay together. All that hand holding, touching, and even lip-on-lip kissing? That's just what bros do. I think if the characters had a flat out sex scene, there's still be people denying that they are gay.
