That obvious, huh?

And this was the pairing that touted itself as so mature and with such quality fic...
I do like the idea of the pairing, but there are very few fics I actually enjoy, and I stay FAR AWAY from the shippers.

Mmm I think she had a couple good points, like about the tank tops, I mean, while individual tank tops can be inappropriate depending on the style, I don't think that tank tops in general are bad, either ban then for everyone, or don't ban them at all (but ban certain styles, like super large arm holes so the shirt is basically cut in half/excessive cleavage), but yeah. Why do you need to wear a see-through top or a midriff baring top to school?

So, yeah, I can see her argument when it comes to certain clothes- if seeing a teenage girl's shoulders is too sexy for you, and you're sexualizing that, that is a problem!

When I was in high school, I was against uniforms.

Except some people I knew who cared about their looks and stuff wished we had them, because then they wouldn't have to worry so much. It certainly gave me food for thought.

I'm, I don't know if annoyed is the right word. I'm dreading the season finale of one of my shows tomorrow. People are going in with expectations that there's no way they're going to fulfill, and I can just see the ugliness coming. Ugh. Lower your expectations people. Put them at rock bottom.

How have I not seen these Thor ones?! These are two of the most brilliant crackvids I've ever seen. I'm downloading them immediately.

This is disturbingly accurate too, lol.

Visually I have the body of the mom on Dexter's Lab with Merida's hair. A running joke with my friends and even my husband is that I act just like Linda Belcher from Bob's Burgers. :) Alriiiiggght.

Re: Controversial opinions: Animal edition

(Anonymous) 2014-05-20 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
I don't trust people who say they don't like cats. I actually go so far as to judge their character. I mean, people who say they don't like animals in general make me wary, but I cannot understand why someone would like dogs but not cats. Personality is so dependent on the individual animals, but having owned many of both cats and dogs, I always found the cats to be more genuinely social, less annoying, and better "friends" than the dogs.

Not hating on dogs, though I greatly prefer cats. But people who say they don't like cats? Eek.

Channel your obsession by reading Captain America comics until you can recognize and place EVERY SINGLE PANEL in this vid: http://trelkez.dreamwidth.org/557101.html

Including the 1940s drag ones. I can do it; come join me in the depths of my madness.

Re: School Dress Codes

Of course, kids will find anything to separate people and pick on people, and if the dress code isn't policed properly it's not going to work, like any policy. If you don't punish kids for not doing homework, a lot of them aren't going to do it either.

My old cat was the biggest baby ever! He was the runt of his litter, and didn't have an ounce of aggressiveness in him. He loved being held and doted on, and he would actually come if you called his name. What about your cat?

Re: Writing question

(Anonymous) 2014-05-20 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
I've been writing both as long as I can remember. I guess most of what I wrote down when I was younger was original, but I don't know if I could really call that what came first since some of the oldest stories I remember creating were elaborate headcanons and things that I never wrote down (or at least, not until I was older).

Yup. And they throw in a bunch of "moments" to make viewers feel like it wasn't totally manufactured at the last second, even though it was. It's so antithetical to their entire relationship and I hated it.

Re: School Dress Codes

(Anonymous) 2014-05-20 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think there's anything wrong with that, but then again, if we go that route, what's wrong with wearing just underwear? Or nothing at all? I don't think it's bad. I'm all for public nudity, in fact.

But I also don't think dress etiquette is an outdated concept. I think standards should be equal and identical for men and women, granted. But I don't think asking students to be covered from shoulders to knees is inherently sexist (as long as the same is true for guys, too).

The issue is that I'm going to DC for the summer. I don't know if it is possible to apartment hunt from out-of state. At this point I'll take what I can get, but usually people want to meet and stuff.

Preferring dogs over cats is one thing, but if someone expresses vitriol towards cats, it will really unfavorably affect how I view them as a person.

Awe, he sounds like he was a great cat!

My cat quite protective of me and once chased off a dog that was bothering me. Even so, she was very social and warmed up to new people quickly. She would come when called and whenever I cried or seemed like I was about to, she came in a flash and just started loving on me. She was always there when I needed her and wasn't noisy on the least. Not much mewling or whining, even when she wanted food. Basically, she was the best cat I could ever hope for.
