Yeah, the designs feel really stiff to me, especially in the PV. (And don't give me that crap that it's just a preview; a preview should be showcasing the best stuff or someone's really bad at their job.)

I think some of it is nostalgia goggles, but I do prefer the old designs. The old ones just look... off. Still excited, though.

I HATE the new Sailor Moon intro. It's so generic, nothing about it says SM at all. :(

I know they're trying desperately to emulate Naoko Takeuchi's art style,
but it just looks like crappy, generic "How to Draw Anime" book art.

That, and they're suffering from massive sameface, and also looking like they can hardly emote, from what's indicated in the current trailer for the show.

I've been dying for an anime adaptation of the actual Sailor Moon manga plotline, though, so I'm still going to give it a shot.

Are people really under the impression that Moonlight Densetsu wasn't the most sugary J-pop song they could come up with at the time?

yeah, I kinda would've expected a more expensive production for something like sailor moon. That trailer part where the senshi pose for example, looks like power point presentation animation on galaxy wallpaper background.

I hope the opening will be better than that.

the heads are just really really odd looking, and the faces are incredibly stiff, one of the things I liked best about the old anime was how funny and expressive Usagi was. I am still going to watch the anime! but I am hoping that when I see more of it the faces...move more?

I'm just happy we're getting a new Sailor Moon based on the manga because I always wanted to see that in action.

The designs don't really bother me. Not what i would have chosen if I got a say but I'll live with it. The hair is pretty.

Yet another butthurt original!Moonie, oh goodie. This is yet another of the reasons why the Sailor Moon fandom is so fuckin' horrible, because it has these sorts of asshats in it.

We've seen what, ten seconds total of it in motion? Also it's a magical girl show, it's going to have sugary music; got a problem with that and you're watching the wrong genre.

I really hated the manga art as a child to begin with: some of it was just incredibly creepy and made me uncomfortable to look at. In contrast, the anime was my favorite thing ever. So me feeling meh about this design isn't surprising. I'm with ya.
