Ok. That sounds right.

Not the journalists who compromised theselves, it's all the fault of the evil woman tempting them with her magic and evil vagina.

Well, she was also apparently in a monogamous relationship with someone else at the time, and Cheating Is Wrong, and the whole thing is a bit skeevy, but yeah. The Internet is dumb as hell and this is kind of calculated to bring out that dumbness in epic proportions.

Being in a relationship is not a deed of ownership. It's not very nice to cheat on someone, but 1. we do not know the full circumstances of the relationship, ir why exactly she felt the need to cheat. We don't know if she was happy and if the man in question deserved he fidelity. 2. worst case scenario and he was a perfect partner and did not deserve to be cheated on then he's not the only person to be on the bad end of infidelity and we do see anyone else threatening to rape any of the other women. This is exclusively because she is a woman daring to encroach on their boys only industry.

You've got to admit, it does lend a tinge of hypocrisy to her statements that cheating on someone is equivalent to raping them.

Nothing I said indicated, or should be read as indicating, that the reaction is in any way justified. In fact, I would think talking about how the Internet is dumb is kind of an indication that I think the reaction is unjustified and stupid. I don't think that Quinn did nothing wrong but the reaction is wildly disproportionate to anything that anyone did and has everything to do with the Internet being the Internet and video game culture being video game culture and both being full of fucking awful misogynists.

Right, and if she were a guy I doubt you'd be making the same excuses. Cheating IS wrong. Guess what? Want to fuck around? Dump your partner. Being in a monogamous relationship means you make a promise that you will be faithful. No one is forcing you to be in one. It's not like it was an arranged marriage or something. I despise people who think it's okay to cheat. It's such a shitty selfish thing to do to someone.

Thing is, Quinn had a boyfriend whilst also this was going on, basically cheating on him, and one of the people she fucked is married. There's also people coming out with claims that she sexually harrassed them as well.

All the allegations of her fucking people for reviews are coming from her angry ex's blog. The allegations that she sexually harassed people--you don't think any of that has to do with a bunch of gamers angry at women in the industry who complain about harassment?

Well, it IS pretty dickish and unethical to offer sexual favors in return for job favors. It's called bribery. It's also just plain insincere and pathetic -- getting people to give you accolades that you don't deserve.

But yeah, IMO people who take a bribe are even worse. After all, their job wouldn't have been affected by whether they gave a bad or good review, while hers would be. They compromised themselves for a mere favor.

Except people are angry about about gaming journalism? A lot of gamers are mad that people are turning this into a sexism issue and not an issue about integrity in gaming journalism as it should be.

Man or woman you don't sleep (Or be close friends with) someone in charge of pimping your wares to an audience. There's obviously a conflict of interest when you give their game a good review. Especially when public review consensus says the game is awful.
