1) Um I'm in fandom AND have a life too, thanks. And I hate the attitudes of people like you who magically think they're better than a person who spends some of their free time in fandom. Like those people automatically have no lives. In fact I have a freid in RL who acts the same way as you, and it pisses me off. It's called being condescending. They dont resent you cause you 'have a life', they resent you cause you're being rude to them.

I feel your pain/confusion, o anonymous secret poster. I encountered the Death Note fandom before I read Death Note itself, so I went into the series expecting Matt to be completely and utterly awesome. I was very surprised and somewhat disturbed to find that he... uh, wasn't. And not only was he not awesome, he wasn't anything! I just--I don't get the fandom's fascination. Even the fact that he's pretty shouldn't have gotten him that far.

9. I think you could have found a better way to word this. It makes me uncomfortable to read this secret because it reminds me so much of masturbation. Your point is lost in between "FAP FAP FAP FAP."

But I do understand what you're saying. It's not just writing--I get heat from people because oh noes I draw fanart, which means I am much lower than the artists who don't. I'm definitely not the best artist out there, not the most original either, but it would be really nice if I could be taken seriously. I mean, my assignments I hand in are all originals; fanart is for fun, not for marks. x[

You can have a life and have fandom to :). Of course you friends will hate you if you say 'OMG I'm so much better than you, get a clue!' Would'nt you?
And what some people call 'real life' is sometimes not very meaningful in the long run ether :P. Jobs, love and school come and go, but fandom is a good thing to have when you are recovering\resting from all of them :)

I don't get how people can call you a homophobe for shipping het pairings, especially CANON het pairings (Hiei/Mukuro is vaguely canon, it's up for debate, but Yusuke/Keiko? SO canon.) That's like calling Togashi a homophobe, it doesn't make sense.

And I think I'm the only Hiei/Kurama shipper that likes Hiei/Mukuro too, and I get a lot of crap about that from my friends. It's just so hard to find good in-character fics about them.

43. Uh, yeah, you REALLY remind me of someone. Mukuro/Hiei, Keiko/Yusuke, and Sensui/Itsuki are all very awesome though, and it sucks that the rabid yaoi fangirls are calling you out on liking het. That's so dumb, but sadly not surprising for the YYH fandom.
