Seriously, if she's ignoring you over one fandom (and I love KH, but it sure as hell doesn't rule my world), and it sounds like you've spoken to her about this and she's insisting there's nothing wrong, then maybe it's time for you to just end the friendship.

Maybe then she'd see the error of her ways. People take others for granted way too much. I don't see why you need to bend over backwards getting into a series that you don't even like just to get someone's attention.

Did I write this secret in my sleep? Finding Nodame really made me realize how much I truly loved playing the piano, and that it didn't really matter that you didn't fit in with everyone else. What matterred was that you loved the music. I'm the same as you, OP- it made me want to start actually playing again, and I've been practicing again because of it.

It actually sorta sucks that I refound the piano because now I've been so set on playing Chopin that I haven't gotten around to really practicing my music for band, but I haven't felt so whole in my entire life. I regret nothing. ♥

12. Couldn't have said it better myself. I think those two are some of the biggest jokes of the D.Gray fandom. Apparently their very existence is something that fans need to behold. Who knew?

So... Haha, no. You're good? But you aren't that good. No one is that good. Step down off your pedestals for a little while and enjoy the series with the rest of the community. Maybe fans would be able to appreciate your writing just that more, if you'd be so kind. I actually enjoy it, but your attitudes are so repulsive that reading anything by your authorships is a damn chore.

What in God's name makes you think that fen would WANT to give anything back to the fandom that you're 'saving' if one of your pastimes is informing said fans of everything that they're doing wrong with their fics? Which apparently is, in fact, everything. I'm a little reluctant to post anything that I write at the risk of being lambasted for not properly understanding the characters as you see fit. Writing isn't one of those 'my way or the highway' areas, darlings.

I hear you. I really do. As much as I try to avoid yaoi/slash myself, it's just so hard to find good het/gen anywhere, no matter how much I try. I don't hate or resent it so much as it really frustrates me. I seem to be one of the last straight women out there who doesn't "get" the appeal of yaoi/slash and who doesn't find it to be a turn-on. I'm like an anomaly of the internet, and I find it difficult to fit in anywhere because of this. :\

That said...the way some people are reacting to you is really only proving your point about how it's eaten fandom alive. I find it sickening that people are treating you that way, to be honest, and frankly, I don't care what people say to me in response to my sentiment. You're not outright condemning yaoi/slash, you're just frustrated at how it's eaten fandom alive, and yet people are still coming down on you for it and treating you as if you've committed some horrible sin.

5. You know, not crying is normally something people are happy about. But if you mean, you want to be emotionally affected by something, perhaps you should just cast your net wider. Perhaps you've got tired of the tropes and presentation of Japanese RPG plots and characters.

37. I like fandom wank. They sometimes (read: often) go over the top, but I like their boisterousness - and it can be a surprisingly good source of information and different perspectives. Cleolinda's reports on the Vander Ark publishing nonsense are one example.
