Nevada-tan makes me cringe. Mainly because I live right by Reno, Nevada and people here where various varieties of the Nevada sweatshirt ALL OF THE TIME. So whenever I see them I think "HO SHIT NEVADA-TAN" and it bugs me so bad.
I could probably buy a similar sweatshirt for about ten bucks from the local Walmart. 8D

3. I can see why you'd keep it a secret, but I think it's an okay reason. Nothing wrong with wanting to look your best in front of the crowds!

49. Garp and Yamamoto, eeeh... I'd like to think of them as awesome daddy-mentors. They're cool and all, and should receive services from women and/or men from their own age-bracket like, nightly. But Smoker? I'm with you there buddy. I am ever so much with you.

50. As a great fan of both, I can't say I'm familiar with the kind of situations that would make this secret exist... but hey, if they exist, I guess they exist. Also, agreed.

I grew up watching Doctor Who and have loved it for years prior to the new series. Living with a family of geeky sci-fi fanatics and not a soap opera in sight; I had always been into Doctor Who only for the sci-fi. But something about the Doctor/Rose dynamic won me over! I have always seen his companions as just that-- companions. Friends who helped him along the way, the romance didn't really occur to me (maybe because I was too young!) but with Rose it seemed like the Doctor had found something special in her and alien or not, a man is a man and he fell in love with her.

I'm not sure why we are to begrudge him this! It seems to have divided the fandom. They're either in denial that he could fall in love at all; think the history of the show would be completely ruined by his wanting to stay with one woman; or like me, see that in a modern version of Who some changes to the tried and tested formula don't spell the end of the universe! Letting him fall in love showed a wonderful side of him and his character became deeper and more likable because of it. It fleshed him out, and made him seem more human and yes yes yes, I know he isn't human. But he has human qualities and falling in love with Rose brought more of those out.

I love that scene in season 2's 'School Reunion' when Rose brings up the fact she would one day be dumped like Sarah-Jane. She says "I've been to the year 5 billion, but this--this is really seeing the future, you just leave us behind. Is that what you're gonna do to me?" and then the Doctor says pretty quickly and resolutely "No... not to you."

In his mind she was different. She wasn't like all the other companions, and to people not so stuck in the past and willing to accept changes and bring new life to the series-- we know why she was different. :)

That scene in School Reunion is also pretty heartbreaking, because it gave a tiny insight into why he left all the others behind in the first place. When he tells Rose the 'curse of a Time Lord'. Revealing why didn't form lasting attachments to people because, and I quote "I don't age I regenerate, but humans decay-- you wither and you die. Imagine watching that happening to someone you--" and he stops!
100% sure he was going to say 'love'. He knows this will happen to Rose too but he's ignoring it, risking all that hurt of watching the woman he loves "wither and die" because he can't face up to leaving Rose behind like he did so many others before her.

I really am enjoying this new side to the Doctor, why everyone else just wants the same old same old over and over again for 30 years and beyond I really can't understand. Take a risk and enjoy it for what it is!

God I'm so glad Rose is coming back. <3

2: My last name, though not ENTIRELY uncommon, happens to be a style of music. I've gotten used to hearing it. >_>

11: I'm not one for voice actors (I honestly couldn't give a shit) but if someone could turn Michael Crawford and Freddie Mercury's voices into people I would sex 'em in an instant. >_>

16: I still follow it for Largo and Erika and in the waning hope it'll somehow actually get good again, but I agree. It's just... eh.

Dr. McNinja is what Megatokyo WISHES it could be--interesting storylines that mix occasional seriousness with great humor/writing, gorgeous art, and just all around awesomeness. Also less furious Japanophile masturbation.

29: female hero retcons or no... well, I'm tolerant of the vast majority of fandom kinks whether I like it or not, but MPreg is the only thing that is completely and instantly "DO NOT WANT." It's... absolutely disgusting and what the hell is even remotely attractive about shitting out your babies?

30: I'm a guy who, though preferring women, likes guys and has messed around with them. But 99.99% of yaoi just doesn't do anything for me XD

34. Holy shit, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien secret. THAT SERIES WILL BE THE END OF ME. I only cried in episode two though. After that, I really wanted to kick EVERY CHARACTER in the face.

I only found out this year about... how he comes across as homophobic and while I like him as a voice actor (dude, seriously I did love him as Ed's VA), I can't stand how he uses his celebrity to like, tell his fans yaoi is wrong and such. He's just a voice actor when you look at it. It's obnoxious to me.

Well, if you hadn't cropped out the "uploaded on" date, there's one answer. It was written in *thinks* 2000? At that point, FFVII fandom was temporarily dead - long, long after the game came out, but LONG before the movie and spinoff games.

Also, I think 50 is a walloping lot of reviews, even though a few at the beginning were replies from me to other reviews. I haven't written fic in years, though, so I dunno what most fics get now.

I think it's wangsty as all hell now, and the "random making up of backstory that wasn't there at the time" runs rampant (is there a word for that? I knew it wasn't canon, but the canon had gaps in it at the time, so I made things up). One of those things. - But I'm still fond of it, despite its flaws.

I never did play DoC. Because I suck at FPS games, not because of any "zomg my story is wayyy more canon than canon" reason.

8. I'm just wondering what part of "THIS SEASON ISN'T OVER YET" is so hard to grasp. No, I'm not a psychotic Zutara fan (see icon, I really don't care if it ends up canon or not), but I think it's a little premature to say Pairing X totally did not happen when the season isn't over, yanno? Sure, it hasn't happened yet, but we still have 10 episodes to go, and "Day of Black Sun" kind of busted open possibilities all over the place.

Ayami Kojima's character art has that effect on nearly all of the girls in the fandom. That's all the FF.net section is nowadays. (Also, Alucard looks like Michael Jackson in that picture.)

Gods megatokyo is awful. I remember people I knew in highschool putting megatokyo pictures on their school diaries, and my saying, "What're you, blind?". (or something to that effect). Seriously. I can deal with shitty art, annoying characters and pointless plots if it's at least funny, but Megatokyo is so banal. It's like a giant Gary Sue with no fandom. *vents*

Did you know real lawyers actually praise Jack McCoy's character and Sam Waterson's acting? Some have even said he acts like a real lawyer up there in every episode too. (And some even look up to him apparently.) :D

Mind, as an L&O fan, I love his character to death. (And S. Epatha and Jackson!) Still will miss Jerry as one of the detectives though :(

I'm with you, 16, even though there don't seem to be many of us. Megatokyo is terrible, the story is slow and uninteresting, and the characters' eyes drive me insane.
