Yes, and admittedly, it does redeem him, but the endless whining throughout the first 80% of the series still pissed me off. By the end of the series, I think he's a nice guy, and it's pretty obvious why he actually has a gang that's loyal to him, but still. It takes a while for the annoyance of listening to his crying to wear off.

Maybe I just need to give it more time.

8. It occasionally occurs to me that I should probably feel bad about finding militant Zutara-shippers' pain hilarious... but I don't. Seriously, guys, if you didn't vehemently expect your crack pairing to become canon, this wouldn't happen to you. You bring it on yourself. There's nothing wrong with shipping something that will never actually happen in the series, you know. It's when you get bent out of shape and say the characters are being written OOC in the actual series because your pairing isn't canon that you start looking crazy. (Also, Maiko is completely freakin' adorable. HOT TOPIC OTP ♥)

Hello, you have stumbled across one of my major kinks. However, I'm not in Slayers fandom, so I can't say much about the pairing or its fans.

In the hands of the right author I think doing a kinky manipulative X/Z fic could work out well, but the X/Z fics in the Slayers fandom tend to be home to character mutilation and lots of it.

Xellos fics in general are often painful to look at because people forget that his race is fully incapable of feeling emotions like love (and if they did I think they would self-destruct or something).

Hey! I thought I was alone in this rocking boat! (Well, not precisely. My 11-year-sister whom I took to see the film also hated her, apparently blood of ice runs in our family.)

It probably doesn't help that I hated Amy Adams's character on The Office and haven't been able to get over her cookie cutter acting since.
