I really, REALLY agree with you here.

In the second season of the show, she seriously redeemed herself. Even in the first season, I didn't think she was that bad...I just didn't really feel much of anything for her as a character and mused over how thin/excitable she was.

But again, her role in the second season of the show? REALLY great. And she showed a lot of spine, despite everything--you can see how much she's grown up.

(Plus the "Miss 'Pahdon-mah-tits'" and the "Someone didn't finish the coffee, first I had a cup, and then Dexter had a cup, it wasn't someone" remarks were just great. She really took the edge off of a character like Lila. >_>;)

I DON'T CARE IF NOBODY READS THIS THERE'S A TAMERS SECRET THERE'S A TAMERS SECREEEEET OMG. *FLAIL*

Although re: #1, I don't think it's fair to compare Tamers to Adventure 01-02, considering how radically different/disparate the premise is. I like them all for their own sakes, but Tamers was my first EVER fandom, so it's got a special place in my heart. ♥

18. I need to figure out who the hell Hei is so I can stop thinking Darker Than Black every time I see his/her name. Honestly, I don't even WATCH DtB!!

25. LOL.

7. I call shenanigans. Slashers are the least whiny group out there. We don’t need to justify the existence of pairings so why would we give a flying fuck if you can see it or not?

20. Good luck with that, newbie.

(Anonymous) 2007-12-16 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
7. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, good one. Obviously you haven't met enough yaoi fanbrats.

Why?

[identity profile] teal-deer.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
20. It's funny. I have at least three stories which are my heartsong One in particular. Said heartsong, if I finish it, may have a character who is so unbelieviably close to me that I cannot even quite define the relationship.

In some ways, I almost feel as if I don't control him - that he has a mind of his own.

The funny thing is?

I hope to god I have an insane wanky fandom

So I can laugh at all the terrible slashfic they try to write about him and the main character.

Re: 20

(Anonymous) 2007-12-16 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's more common than people let on,
because I think a lot of published authors have this exact same relationship/feeling with their Heap Biggest Chars.

Um. The gender thing in particular was probably his secret to begin with. He just found an outlet that matched the way he feels. I think Fandom changes people less than people find things that reflect the stuff they don't want to admit, and it gives them the ability to express it.

That said, I could be wrong. He could be just that impressionable, but given what I know about T*'s, it's less likely. Just because he never gave any indication before of feeling this way doesn't mean it wasn't him. After all-- why did he pick that particular character to latch on to?

Just sayin'.

So seriously, there are a LOT worse anime characters to have as a role model/lust object than Mu La Fllaga.

"If you have the power to make a difference, you should." Words to live by. Words to live by.

#30: I want someone like that. And yeah, I'd probably ship us, too. :P

[identity profile] enjolras.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
1. I LOVE Tamers. But I also love the first two seasons as well. It's all equal love really. They make me happy in different ways. :D

4. It sounds like he was probably a little confused before you let him borrow it. Although, I don't know him personally, I think I'm sure in saying it's not your fault.

7. IAWTS.

11. ...Elaboration pls?

28. LOL. You're awesome.

[identity profile] blubberoddment.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
39. I first started looking at ND because of him too. I also memorized their fight song when i was a sophomore. And had the picture of the mugglecasters in times square in my planner. But ND is too far away for me, I'm staying on the eastern shore.
...although Providence is one of my top 3 and the main reason I first started looking there is because Brendan Leonard went there. =/

[identity profile] vespawoman.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
26. That is if they release the game overseas. Ugh, Square! Stop with the fucking cellphone games already! It's not far to those who would want to play them, but the cellphones can't run them :(.

On a similar note, why is Parasite Eve 3 going to be a cellphone game?! I weep the death of this series.

[identity profile] destructively.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
How do you think KH fans feel about 358/2 Days?

Square Enix is learning nothing from their fans; except that we'll desperately buy anything Final Fantasy related-- I think the only piece of spinoff crap no one bought was the Chocobo Adventure series.

[identity profile] i-heart-cameron.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
1. YES

GOD, YES

TAMERS WAS DEEP, IT HAD MEANING! AND NO CORNY JOKES!

YESSSSSSS

[identity profile] speaky-bean.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I do this too...all the time. Most of my fics involve this somehow, even when I try to avoid it. And I'm in a retarded, verbal, crack!RP with my sister where this happens more or less constantly. I go out of my way to find fics where this sort of thing happens...hell, I even made a c2 on fanfiction.net, for Death Note fics involving disease. Not that there are many. ANYWAY, that being said, you are one of the few people I've met who shares this interest, so, uh, wanna be friends? :D

[identity profile] koshou-panda.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
1.) A thousand times YES. Tamers was amazing. It was deep, dark, and just plain beautiful. I don't get why people think it's the black sheep of the whole series. (Season 2 deserves THAT title way more, I think...)

Also, I <3 you.

... *wishes she had a Digimon icon*

[identity profile] destructively.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I still remember being twelve and thinking how funny it was that Guilemon thought Takato was a Digimon as well.

"YAY TAKATOMON"

(Anonymous) 2007-12-16 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I've seen the Hogfather movie, and I'd have to say that they did a fantastic job.

They didn't have the kind of budget that that type of fantasy movie deserves, and it shows in places, but it's nearly word for word and the humor and drama and all the things that make it great are there.

It's not as good as the book, no, because you're right, there's too much in the words that can't be carried over into dialog, but the people who made it obviously loved the book and tried their hardest. So, go see it!

3. Agreed! Stories with overt, Black and White, Good vs. Evil plots and characters are wonderful reminders of the way things should be--if they're written well. Sure, it can be a healthy escape from the drudgeries of reality, but a great story can also show us how reality itself should be changing for the better.

15. 'Online buddies' with someone means NOTHING. Believe me. You are definitely not the only fangirl he keeps in contact with.
36. Please no.
42. Yeah, that's not a good thing. At least you recognize it's getting out of hand. Remember that fandom is entertainment; it shouldn't occupy 50% of your brainspace.
43. Galinda was lez?!

Fandom like CPR, does save lives

[identity profile] digitalmeowmix2.livejournal.com 2007-12-17 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
My entire school life I was either bullied or ignored, kids would not look at me,talk to me, sit near me or even touch anything I had touched

My first big anime con,I was glomped. Total strangers fucking hugged ME, I did conga lines at the dance, I danced close to people

For the first time in my life i wasn't a fucking leper

I sobbed in the hotel room that night and thanked my mom and friends for coming with me, for letting me share a part of my heart with them.

I call AnimeBoston "coming home" When I find newbie fan who is enjoying there first con there, I welcome them to the family, I tell them their never alone now

When I'm in cosplay I feel more beautiful then a fatty with glasses and crooked teeth should

I once cleaned my room in the middle of the night because Sailor Mercury would not have a messy room

I cried at the end of FMA and at a Rock Lee ep. of Naruto,I named my beta fish after Ichigo from Bleach

I have branched out to live action fandom now, years later. But anime fandom saved my life, and no matter how wanky or crazy or mean it is,it continues to save my life

I love you secret poster,I'm glad it helped you the way it did me.

feel free to go unanon and friend me

1. *shakes head* Weeeell... I may give it a try... but honestly, theres not much can beat the original series for me.

12. Now that's the kinda secret I like to see! *hugs* Glad it's brought you so much happiness.

13. Me too. I love Discworld... but I'm too paranoid about it being messed-up to see the TV drama. *le sigh*

21. WORD!

42. Don't worry, it happens to all of us fandom peeps at some point. It's inevitable.
