26. goddamnit, SE needs to stop making cellphone games.

No, everyone needs to stop playing cellphone games.

so. much. damn. WORD.

I am honestly kind of pissed off with how much stuff they're shoving onto phones anymore. If I WANTED a full computer on my phone, I'd just haul my laptop around. I can understand it for corporate execs and people of that type, but does the average person REALLY NEED all of that?

Haha, sorry -- rant there ^^'

1. YOU ARE NOT ALONE. I liked the first season, not so much the second season but the third season? BEST ONE EVER. ♥

16. Ah! I wanted to read that series but the library doesn't have the books here... also didn't the publishing company that was publishing it in the US like- went bankrupt? *may have facts wrong*

27. D

[identity profile] yutamiyu.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
Re: 16:

The company was bought out by another, who kept all of the martial arts comics they (ComicsONE, I think) was publishing and dropped everything else.

1. I guess? I loved Adventure and Zero Two and Tamers kind of... made me go wtf. Though I did love Kazu, Ryo, Lee and Ruki a lot. Takato was an okay hero.

2. PETE WENTZ IS FUCKING UGLY. And his penis isn't even impressive. And surprisingly Gerard looks a lot better without the make-up and BLEEEEEACHED hair. He's kinda cute, IMO.

4. Er, it's not your fault or Shuichi's.

14. Meet #21 lol.

15. He seems really, really nice. And such a dork, too. 8D

8. lol, i keep the manual in my purse too. :D;;;; But it's mostly for reference in case I need to look up someone's outfit on the fly, since I draw them all the time.

[identity profile] marrow.livejournal.com 2007-12-16 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
XDDD The one that I keep in my purse has been totally demolished by wear (at one point all the pages fell out and I had to staple them together into sections and then tape them into the cover with medical tape). I almost never take it out just to look at it because it's impossible to get back in.

I bought another one, but I haven't used it yet. |D;

1: OMG YAY =D I still haven't finished yet but yeah, Tamers>Adventures. (Actually, basically anything is better than 02 IMO...), it really is fantastic.

13: Nothing compares to the book, but I loved the TV adaptation. It wasn't too quick, I loved a lot of the artistic direction and eee, Death was <3. I know a lot of people disliked Teatime though...

15: Lucky! And I agree, guys, a little 'don't rush yourself' is a nice thing to say =\

3. WORD. So much word. I want my fiction to be fun and awesome and sure some dark is nice now and then, but I don't have to believe something to enjoy it.

[identity profile] powercorrupts.livejournal.com 2007-12-15 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
21. A million flavours of word to you, good sir (or ma'am). A MILLION. I get really irritated when people bitch about one of the earlier FF games as not being as good as one of the later ones, actually, because there's this thing called "stepping stones." =/ And VII may be overrated or not, but the sheer number of people it got into the genre can't be debated. Maybe some people would rather that a lot of those people weren't, but on the other hand, most of those same people, if they truthfully assessed themselves, might not be either.

Though to be fair, I've met people stupid enough to bash Mario. My little cousin is younger than the PS1, in his defence, but on the other hand, I just can't respect someone who can't stand Super Mario World.

26. ...I swear this one isn't mine, bb! I know that's the font I use on icons and my exact sentiment towards this game, but uh, >> Not me all the same. I really do have a lurking feeling that it's going to be horrible, but on the other hand, why isn't it coming out some place I can play it so that I can see the horrible first hand? I'm not sure whether I'm more disappointed with Squeenix for selling out everything, or if I'm more disappointed that they won't bring their selling out to the States.

Edited because I sort of forgot that "sir" isn't an all-gender statement. You'd be amazed how often that happens.

OH GOD YES I DO. :(

My mom and brother tried to record that show for me while I was away at university this term, but they kept forgetting. As a result I've only seen 3, maybe 4 episodes. But I still ship those two. D: I just wish I could see more interaction between them!

3.

[identity profile] aravistarkheena.livejournal.com 2007-12-15 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
I am EXACTLY the same way. My Hobbesean views on humanity and society contrast so much with what I read. I'm cynical, caustic, judgmental and hate it when people cry. When it comes to fic, books, movies and comics I love everything that's sappy, full of waff and just plain lovey-dovey. I almost never write angsty fic, and I will never read a deathfic.

I'd be more embarrassed about all this if it didn't make me feel so happy. :D

22- OH, MAN. SO MUCH LOVE FOR YOU.

I loved those books ♥ Sure they may be written for kids, but they were just so good! I don't think there's many other writers who can sucessfully keep the spirit while making the stories amusing.

22 OP

(Anonymous) 2007-12-16 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Yaaaaaaaaaay!

No one I know has read them. I tell my friends they rock, they say they'll try them, and never do. It makes me sad. And they are so amazing - always funny, always thoughtful, often at the same time or just with the drop of a hat. I honestly can't say that about too many series.

2. It really depends on the band. I don't do the whole MCR/FoB/P!atD deal (for more reasons other than lack of attraction, long story), but I'm a popslasher (BSB/*NSYNC) like my life depended on it. I really wonder if it has to do with my age. (MCR/FoB/P!atD fans tend to be young, because they're what's "cool" right now.)
6. I love shoujo series! (Kaleido Star is one of my favorite animes)
23. o_O (Sorry, gut reaction)
24. I tend to do that too, but I'm a total sucker for hurt/comfort.
30. Wow you kinda sound like me ('cept my sister's a bit younger and I'm pretty much straight).
37. Are people invading my brain and making secrets out of my life? I pretty much slash everything myself.
42. Most of this could apply to me too. (I'm pretty vocal about my fandom life, it's the only thing I can talk about with my 15-year-old sister.. fanfic and fanvids and slashy subtext)

Well, yeah, I know a lot of people do. But they're not the sort of thing I'm usually interested in. I tend to scoff at sappy, girly things... it's just that every now and then, I feel like watching one.

[identity profile] downburst.livejournal.com 2007-12-15 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
8. Star Ocean ♥
21. You know, I'm not really that big on Final Fantasy (although I'm currently playing through XII, god that game is awesome), but I have to say that I wholeheartedly agree. Final Fantasy more or less shaped the RPG genre into what it is today, and while FFVII may be a bit overhyped in my opinion, it still contributed a LOT to rpgs.

Also, props for mentioning LUNAR. ♥!

It's really annoying and condescending when people say that sexuality/relationships 'cheapen' the source material. I mean, sure, some stuff is cheap and shallow and just plain bad, but not everything in fandom that involves sexuality and non-canon relationships is a disservice to the original. Exploring the relationships between characters in some cases not only provides good entertainment, but different and deeper insight into the story and characters. It's really annoying when people act all high and mighty because they don't ship anything, or don't read fic, or don't RP or don't draw fanart. It's just an expression of how the stories make people feel, and sexuality/romance is just part of the human experience. It's not demeaning to characters when people want to explore parts of characters that aren't expanded upon in the story.

I'm not trying to force any pairings on anyone, nor am I trying to show what isn't there. If you ask me why I like a pairing, I'll answer you as honestly as I can. If you don't see what I see, it doesn't bother me. What does bother me is these anonymous people acting like I'm some sort of mental midget because I choose to do so. I ship, I'm interested in relationships between characters, sexual or not. It doesn't make me a "bad" fan who is destroying the source material.

[identity profile] drworm.livejournal.com 2007-12-15 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Very well put, I totally agree. I never understood the whole "cheapen" thing. It seems kind of counterintuitive to me. Like, uh, a depiction of a loving sexual relationship is cheapening something? I get that there's a lot of shallow stuff out there, but in theory... I just don't get it. And it's irritating putting a lot of careful thought into something and then being talked down to. :/

3. Fun times! Sometimes I like a story like that too. People with your taste in fiction only bug me when they bash well-written characters essentially just for being realistic. You don't have to like 'em; just remember they're not written for you, and other people have every reason to enjoy them.

4. Er. Maybe he (or she) is an MtF or feminine gay man who felt drawn to Shuichi or whatever uke-boy there is called because he was such a girly gay boy? And the whole reason he's so confused and depressed now is that his family is disowning him instead of supporting him and helping him find better ways to understand his sexuality than a bad uke stereotype?

Just, you know, a thought.

27. I, uh...think Sakura is an awesome character and one of the best-developed in Naruto, sry2say. So many people seem incapable of seeing past the first few chapters where she was deliberately depicted as a seemingly shallow, bratty teenage girl.

But I do think that a small part of the reason so many people hate her is that Kishimoto spent time he could have used to explore her development going on and on about his BOYZ FIGHTIN'.

I also agree with the more general idea here. It bugs the shit out of me when people rail and rail about what a stupid weak useless whore (insert female character here) is instead of getting upset at the (usually male) creator. :/

43. I don't know about lesbian, but I'm on the brink of shipping that character hard with Chuck. :<

[identity profile] agawa-jean.livejournal.com 2007-12-15 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
