Sachiko-san wouldn't bother making a secret like this anyway. They've expressed their disdain towards korrasami and LoK in general many times under their username. it's not much of a secret

I like the ship, I like that it is canon, I watched the last 5 minutes leading up to it

Do you have to watch the built-up to really "feel" it as more than going on vacation and gazing seriously at each other in the end?

Not really. Bryke honestly just shoved it in at the end, and the only thing that made it legitimately "canon" was Bryke claiming it was after the fact.

I'm down with Korrasami but not the way Bryke did it. Every ship in the show was written like garbage.

That's my problem, too.
I didn't really ship anything and thought Korrasami was an honestly interesting idea, but I didn't like how they did it? (Also, you don't really need a kiss to make a relationship more obvious imo)

I'm sure there are lots of better written fanfics out there and more power to them.

(I'm totally staying out of the wank, though. It's only fun when both sides have the chance... but if one side constantly gets "Ur just a homophobe/bi-phobe!!!" instead of arguments thrown at them, it's just boring to read.)

Yep. I mean, you have to pretty much already be wearing a set of shipping goggles (not to be confused with the prescription homo lenses) to see the apparent hints toward the ending. I think the last scene is blatant, but if you were unaware of the following for them as a pair, it really isn't led up so clearly, much less subtly, to the way Mike and Bryan claim it was.

Where they manage to hit the viewer over the head with their het romances, this one was a whisper directed at your foot.

bryke outright referred to them as bi so I don't get why there's wank about it (or one of them said "bisexuals exist" at least when talking about Korrasami so it's implied that he was referring to either one or both of them)

I think the wank is/can be entertaining (I'm only peripherally paying attention got any links?) but I don't really *understand* the wank in this case.

Well, except for the Makorra/ship wars wank. I still think it's dumb but I see why people do it - it's just a matter of shouting your opinion at the other side, tearing them down (because that makes humans feel so good!) and gloating that your ship "won", so not a lot of actual facts involved.

But for the rest?
-they're bisexual (not only should you be able to figure this out on their own based on canon, but they confirmed it), and
-yes, it's canon, not just friends (they confirmed this too)

Why are people so mad about it. I mean it's a moment at the very end just hand holding, which implies the beginning of the relationship and if you really really wanted you could ignore Word of God,and say they're really close friends.

Hell many people in the HP fandom just ignore the epilogue and it's easy enough. I don't get why some people have to keep harping on how Korrasmi is so shitty and bad and YOU'RE WRONG IF YOU LIKED IT, like some people on this comm have

(also to be fair, for those claiming it was a last minute asspull and was too quick or whatever consider this. Korra met Mako in the first or second ep (I forget) by ep 5 she was telling him "we were meant to be together" and soon after kissing him, and they were together by the end of the season. Whereas Korrasmi had two seasons of them hanging out together and getting close which built up to them holding hands and going on a trip together, So yeah.....that's why I laugh in mockery everytime I see "but it's an asspull" )

The wank is at turns fascinating and terrible. And what's weird is that I've never seen the show, but I still find that I have an emotional investment in the Korrasami side. I don't understand myself.

Same. It's just cool to see something most people didn't think could be canon actually happen. Plus the show is really pretty and I'm shallow and want to watch for that reason, so the sexy same sex couple is a nice bonus...

Got into the show after I heard about the ending (I had only seen season 1 before, enjoyed it but didn't keep up). So now I'm specifically looking for Korra/Asami. I think as of season 3, it's definitely developing intentionally, but it is subtle. Knowing it's going to happen, I can see how their relationship is growing, the little compliments they give each other, how Korra blushes... very cute.

That being said, I liked Mako/Korra too. Never got the Mako hate. Still, I appreciate seeing a more mature and "real" adolescent relationship in a kids' show (or show in general) - they loved each other, had sparks, but just didn't work out when they were dating. Then they break up, it's tough, but still remain friends - that's awesome and meaningful, too.

I love the show and the ship, but I can't deny that the wank is a nice bonus, even if it is a little lackluster compared to the Kataang vs. Zutara wanks we got back in the day. Well, so far, anyway. There's still plenty of time, oh yes.
