(Anonymous) 2015-01-21 01:33 am (UTC)(link)1) a fandom that "sporked" fan fiction
2) the funny portmanteau couple name for Kirk/Spock (Spork!)…so maybe Star Trek TOS?
Besides that, I got nothin'

Spike from Buffy? No idea. Maybe the relation is very 'somewhat' as the OP put it.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-21 02:49 am (UTC)(link)I realize people typically use "Spirk" but I've always considered that a failure of fandom when "Spork" is so much funnier.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-21 01:37 am (UTC)(link)As much as I love certain fandom, I don't want it to get popular again because I know SJWs would love to complain about some things of the canon and it'll probably restart the bashing against certain characters but now ussing SJ as an excuse. DNW

(Anonymous) 2015-01-21 01:54 am (UTC)(link)Text: As saddened as I am that my primary fandom - the only one that I really participated in beyond simply watching and discussing - is dead, I’m thankful before it died before rabid fandom SJWs* got ahold to it.
I rewatched the show a few weeks ago and all I could think of was what they would touch upon to whine about.
*By random fandom SJWs I mean those who misuse social justice solely to berate people who don’t ship what they do or like parts of the show they don’t.
**Spork semi-related to fandom

(Anonymous) 2015-01-21 02:21 am (UTC)(link)I mean, I get what you're saying, but I feel like you're vastly underestimating how bad shit can go down, especially with websites like tumblr that make spreading information easy, and correcting misinformation hard.

They tried to boycott Five Nights at Freddy's creator for being pro-life when he hadn't taken any such stance

One person tried to get a boycott of Lush bath bombs based on the false premise of them being misogynistic and torturing a woman (she was a paid performer who wanted to raise awareness about animal testing). http://twofishies.tumblr.com/post/107556904991/before-buying-bath-bombs
These things happen all the time, and those are some of the bigger ones.
In one of my fandoms, someone tried to put up one of those "hey, watch out for ___ they're abusive" with no proof simply based on grudgewanking. There's also a longstanding history of the SJWs in fandom being anti-semetic, homophobic, racist and downright transphobic.
There is a trend of tumblr feminists being homophobic towards gay men. Here's one with one of them calling them slurs. http://poppypicklesticks.tumblr.com/post/107850932644/poorbrat-poppypicklesticks-voidbabe
and another: http://aviholic.tumblr.com/post/108397662637/rheabutter-beyonslayed-princeofthots
There was also a post (I don't have it handy, it grossed me out too much) which called out feminists for slagging Harvey Milk for not being progressive enough. That's right, gay rights activist from an earlier decade who got KILLED FOR HIS SEXUALITY was just another evil one of the "white gays."
You wanna hate life? Check the transmisandry tag on tumblr where feminists try and bully tans men into dysphoria and suicide because they're 'shitlord oppressors' or something.
I'm not against equality or a MRA or anything, but touting this as progressive is fucked up.

(Anonymous) 2015-01-21 10:39 am (UTC)(link)Amy's spent her love and youth on a man who is, essentially, using her up. The world is fundamentally unfair in that situation; even, biology's unfair. There's no recourse. Lost years cannot be gotten back. Her husband broke faith with her, not law. There will be no punishment for him while for her, even "leaving" cannot restore what he took. Let's see: male divorcees vs female divorcees...the winner's obvious.
The work is feminist because it is a violent fantasy that stil draws upon a lot of issues unique to women in society. Amy's not a random act of mad violence; she subverts "femininity" as a source of purposeful and directed strength. She's an anti-hero.
