...how would you spend it? Let's say you've won $200 million (about the size of a Euromillions rollover jackpot in Europe).

That's easy. I'd just slide that wad right over to my father, because he is, like, one of the top brokers in the State.

Actually, I'd probably buy a super-sweet house, and maybe a nice place in the city, and then kind of just chill with the rest (after donating to charity etc etc etc).

Maybe buy a house, as the winnings enables me to pay someone else for the structural/exterior upkeep.
Perhaps enroll in a two week course for drivers license.

Buy an apartment in my favourite city and then I'd probably try to start training in one of those creative and/or acting related jobs I've been interested in for so long but would never do because I couldn't support myself financially with them.
Money may not buy you happiness but it does buy you calmer nerves and opportunities.

Buy a house, put enough away to keep myself and my partner, my parents and my kids comfortable for the rest of our lives, give some to charities, start a business, travel.

Well first I'd hire someone to do my taxes.

Then I'd ask my parents if they needed any of it for their upcoming retirement, or if any other family members/close friends have urgent financial needs.

Then I'd hire a financial planner to do something sensible to plan for my retirement. And my sister's, since fuck knows she can't.

Then look into someplace to live, since we'll move at some point. That's not terribly appealing, though. Maybe a new car? idk

If there's anything left, probably various charities?

Move into my own apartment (I don't want to own a house, no matter how rich I am), pay off anything my parents need paying off, upgrade my electronics, maybe go back to school/training for a career path that suits me better than my current one, possibly leverage myself into seeking treatment for my mental issues now that I have solid, numerical proof that medication and/or therapy won't bakrupt me.

Pay debts, start a retirement fund for my still-working surviving parent, fix up my current place, then decide whether I want to keep it, sell it, rent it, or turn it into a business, (B&B or vacation rental, as it's a heritage house), get another place somewhere else that is brand new and universal design, in a place with much better weather, and buy all the books.

10 million aside for my pension.

Spend the rest to travel the world, self-publish novels, and fund a school for gifted kids that some of my friends work at.

indulge in the shut-in life i've always dreamed of and a personal chef,
eventually get horrible depression from lack of human contact, and waste the rest of the money on emotional spending

Pay off my student loans and make my parents debt free, buy a flat for me (and one for my sister) and decorate it beautifully, quit my job so I can focus solely on my studies, travel a lot, throw out all my old clothes and buy new ones, and so much more. Definitely hire someone to handle my taxes though.

With $200 million I would be a billionaire in my country so it's not like I would have to worry about money for a while (nor would my future grandkids most likely unless I end up just wasting it away on crap)

A new car. Pay off all my loans/credit cards. Buy a nice piece of land and build my dream house. Take my whole family on a nice vacation. Throw a big party for friends and family. Then invest the rest so I can live off the interest and never work another day in my life.

I'd pay off my student loans, pay off my two best friends student loans then I'd buy a modest house somewhere nice and get like a cat and a dog then probably sit on the rest of it as a pension and maybe buy some clothes or other things I like every now and then. I'd certainly try to save it up for the most part.

Quit my job, spend all my time traveling and writing. Use my riches to publicize my books so they sell okay, and make me more money.

And also start a no-kill cat shelter, and encourage everyone to neuter!

Buy a house in one of a couple neighborhoods I like, get my car fully restored and custom-painted, probably convert it to an electric motor, set up college funds for my niece and nephew, and endow a scholarship to my alma mater.

After that, travel a bunch, possibly via Earthwatch trips. And just buy things without worrying about them. Cool-looking Rocketeer statue? Mine now. Get a better printer? Good idea. Say, that's a gorgeous edition of Twain's essays. Might as well grab it.

I'd avoid buying crazy-expensive things, and investing in wild-assed business ideas and anything shaped like a con. Mostly just stash my money in government bonds and the nearest equivalent I can find to the Bailey Building & Loan, providing a steady income I can live comfortably on.

Buy three houses. One for my mom in Virginia Beach. One for me in Colonial Williamsburg. And one in South Florida for visiting the relatives. Buy my mom a new car. Buy myself a new car. Send my nephew to private school. Put away enough for his college education, a car and a starter house. And then travel. Travel. Travel.

Oh, and I'd get a nice camera and start shooting short films. I think I would take up directing. Even go back to college for it.

1: Ask parents for help/advice managing the money.

2: New cars for my BFFs, and me.(That would be three cars.)

3: Add a small guestroom onto my house so my friend who was injured in a car accident can come live with me, and not worry about ending up homeless while she tries to sort crap out.

4: Have a small garage built for the cars.

5: Build what amounts to a tiny house for all the cats(and most likely anything else that can fit through a cat door.) we have around here.
