I love where I'm working currently. Love the work and love my boss for the most part. But he's really scatterbrained and just so busy that he forgets things. I'm going to have to go in tomorrow and skip an event I really wanted to go to because he kept forgetting to send me things or tell me what to do on something.

Man, I'm in coffee shop, but ditzy bosses can be ridiculous no matter the industry. I have told my boss to get his shit together (paraphrase) so many times regarding machine maintenance, scheduling, payroll, and all the smaller things that I may as well volunteer to be his personal assistant at this point.

Go alone. No one in my life besides my dad likes the same movies I do. So if I'm not in the same area of the world as my dad, I just go alone.

IIRC, there was a whole Seinfeld episode about how going to movies with people was kind of pointless (you can't talk to them during the movie) so you shouldn't worry about going alone.

I'm trying to lose 15 pounds for the sake of my health. This is not anorexia. My BMI is 24. Losing 15 would put me at a nice even 20, right in the middle of healthy range instead of leaning toward overweight.

Everyone is being completely unsupportive. When I was 30 pounds up, they were all for it, but now that I've worked most of weight off, it's "you look fine", "no one needs to be that skinny", "omg you might weigh less than me".

I don't want to think they're jealous, but yeah, I'm thinking they're jealous.

My landlady has a very strong sense of justice, for a given value of the word. When she thinks she's being cheated or treated unfairly, she figures exactly how best to make it right, then insists on that without compromise. If the other person tries to explain, or to tell her that what she's asking isn't possible, she gets louder. I've timed it, and she can go on for an hour, with no consideration for the time of day or night, the fact that she and the person she's arguing with are within earshot of my room, or how desperately I need sleep.

I really hate it when guys say "I don't think women realize how much it hurts when they do that to us," with "that" usually being something along the lines of getting rejected, or saying "I love you" and not hearing it back, or having an emotionally distant partner.

Yup, all of those things hurt. And it also hurts when you do them to women. But they always seem to believe that the pain only flows in one direction, and that women just can't possibly understand it.

I just don't have any patience or sympathy left for friends who are married to total shitbags and want to complain about what controlling, empathy-less robots they are... but they're not going to divorce him because of the childreeeeeeeeeeen.

Newsflash: your husband is a terrible role model for your kids. Your son is going to grow up to be a clueless misogynist douchebag who thinks laundry and household chores are woman's work and your daughters are going to marry emotionally unavailable assholes just like daddy. I used to feel sorry for you, but you made your own problems and now your kids will pay for it.

One of my friends is in the military and I guess at some point everyone got bored and talked about people from home/group stalked facebook and now a whole bunch of people I've never met know stuff about me, and I don't know what they know, but I want to know what they know.

I talked to him and I could hear them in the background like "HIIIIIIIIIIII (name)'S FRIEND" and lots of "GET IT SON" etc.

Basically I want to know what people say about me when I'm not there.
I'm mature like that.

My friends keep trying to hook me up with another friend because we are "perfect for each other". The "perfect for each other" thing being that we both watch anime even if we have completely opposing tastes. Also he's a pervert, and I don't mind the "haha pervert" or having kinks, no. I meant the type who'll reach to cop a feel at you and say tons of dirty stuff. He also offered to cheat on/ditch his girlfriend for me.

I'm sick of people who are okey-dokey with people farming cows for their flesh but draw some sort of arbitrary line of moral outrage in the sand at people raising weasels for their skins. If you're standing there in your leather Birks eating a turkey burger and screaming about how fur is murder, then go fuck yourself. Also, you basically lose all your hippie street cred as a crunchy environmentalist if you're wearing fake fur or fake leather, since that stuff is about as earth-friendly as a styrofoam cooler fire stoked with rainforest logs.

This shouldn't even be a complaint or rant, because wow, it means people like me. But whatever. I get to work at 10 til 8 and yet I don't sit down at my desk til 5 after 8, sometimes later, because on the way past other desks, I have to stop and talk to at least 3 people who - I don't know, just want to talk and immediately jump from the mundane superficial morning greetings to something deeper that requires me to be fully engaged. BEFORE COFFEE. This morning, it took five minutes to get past my supervisor, and then next person...all I did was say "welcome back, nice vacation?" and she spent almost ten minutes telling me about how her vacation wasn't great. It took almost five minutes to get past the next person after her. These are all nice ladies, whom I genuinely enjoy talking to. But I feel as though I'm walking a gauntlet of politeness and required nicey nice and it's costing me that needed time to get to my desk and prep before it hits 8 o' clock.

I fucking hate it when someone meets up with me, and they spend most of the time on their smartphone. Yeah, yeah, I can be needy for attention sure. But why did you bother to ask me to lunch. I got no qualms about eating alone, but I understand that you do, and you probably just wanted the physical company. BUT YOU SUCK.

I'd have sat next to you instead of this cozy across-eachother table you asked the hostess for. At least then I could have easily people watched something other than your down-turned face.

People who lie over the dumbest shit for no reason.

Ie:

"Oh they said there were lots of mistakes and had to change lots (in my report)" - I get to see the final copy (personal improvement etc) and it's unchanged since I handed it over. Why lie.

"They called me up cause you parked the car in the wrong place" - I parked it in the bay I picked it up in. I handed over the log book with my contact details. I followed up with them on the off chance I had parked it wrong and wanted to avoid a repeat and they dunno what you were talking about. Why are you lieing then going around telling everyone about your lie? Is it cause they're all mad at you for driving so slow they gave me the keys?

"I can't find my stapler" oh here I have a spare *hands over a small white stapler* "this looks like my stapler did you take it?" *no I literally just grabbed it from stationary because I needed different tape* lady claims white stapler comes back and sees my big black stapler "that looks like my stapler did you take it?" *no this is my stapler I have had for a year now* "are you sure?" *yes*
Lady proceeds to tell everyone I stole her stapler, even after I walk 3 metre to stationary and give her her own. WHAT IS WITH THE LYING

Same lady is all "oh you fiiiinalllyyy show up" it's fucking 9:05 I was grabbing a coffee you're not even a team mate what the fuck does my arrival and departure time matter to you as long as I'm doing my hours. Stop acting like I'm a lazy late person. Stop lying. Wtf.
