One of my breasts is two cup sizes larger than the other. Should I have surgery to correct this?

Pros:
- Better appearance
- Psychologically positive

Cons:
- Major operation
- Potential for infection/other nasty side effects and risks
- High likelihood of nerve pain in breasts for rest of life
- Won't be able to breast feed

If it's the appearance that bothers you, have you tried working out your chest beneath the smaller breast? Developing the pectoral muscle could help balance it out aesthetically

If you only opt for enlargement on one breast, you should be able to breast feed just fine. Even if you decide to go for a higher nipple placement on the other breast, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to breast feed. Glandular tissue is spared in that kind of reconstructive surgery.

Also there likelihood of nerve pain is not "high", it's an individual issue and depends on which type of procedure you are looking for.

You have a lot of options here as far as surgery goes. You could have your own fat/stomach tissue taken to fill out the smaller breast, or you could have an implant, you could have the larger breast reduced to match the smaller one (since not everyone has to want large breasts).

Consult with more than one surgeon about your options, as different surgeons employ different techniques and one surgeon might be better at handling your particular case than another.

Could you get a foam insert or something to put in bras and tops for the smaller one?

I'm not sure exactly what surgery you're thinking of, but in terms of breastfeeding I'm pretty sure breast enlargement surgery has come a long way and doesn't prevent breastfeeding now. Not sure about reduction but I've never heard that it reduces the ability to breastfeed.

...I think you're better off not ever going in for a reduction if you're not in pain from them. Asymmetry is not a handicap.

The suggestion that you wear one chicken cutlet sounds smart, and may be the safest option.

Should I cut my hair short? It's really long right now (mid-back).

Is it damaged? Dry, rattled, loads of split ends? Then yes.

I used to have long hair (down to my butt), cut it to a pixie, which was really fun and easy for awhile but I eventually missed long hair. Now I'm growing it out again. But if you're not attached either way, shorter is definitely easier to work with.

I used to have long hair, cut it and never looked back. Do you have a specific style you want? If not, to decide I would look at pictures of possible short styles and think about if you would like how they look on you. That's how I made the decision.

If anything, you can always grow it back out if you want to.

Life is short, have fun with your hair. Do all sorts of shit to it. Cut it, grow it, dye it... If it's time for a change then do it!

So, dinner. I have asparagus. How should I cook it and what with?

Re: Decisions thread

(Anonymous) 2015-06-06 10:18 pm (UTC)(link)
You have it with roast chicken and potatoes, and you lightly fry the asparagus in butter just enough to tenderize it a little.

Ooh asparagus is so good! I cook it pretty simply. On a pan on the stove, in a bit of oil and a sprinkle of water so it'll steam and not be so crunchy. Add salt and butter. Ta-da, delicious.

I think it's delicious with mashed potatoes.

In an oven at 350 degrees, put the asparagus on a foil-lined sheet and drizzle olive oil. Place another piece of foil on top and cover. Roast for about 10 minutes, take off the top sheet of foil, then roast for another 7-10 minutes.

I have a problem and I'd like to talk to someone about it but I have no friends or family that lives nearby.

I could tell my grandparents or parents but they lives thousands of miles and hundreds of miles away, respectively and they'd have no real way to help me. Plus telling them would really stress them out and, like I said, there's really nothing they can do to help.

Should I tell them or try to find another outlet?

if you stay it will be double

I'm still not finished with my (shitty) bsc thesis after procrastinating/bullshitting on it for over a year. my country treats its students well enough that money isn't an issue.

I'm afraid I'll stay stuck like this. Even if I miraculously pull through in the next three months, I'll have to wait another year to do a master.

Giving up now seems really stupid though.
Should I drop out or not?

To distance learn Lib arts or compsci. I only want to try a couple courses atm to make sure I can pull off self-studying (I have the time for sure thanks to my work schedule.).

Or whether to drop that idea entirely and focus on getting better at art and writing as a personal hobby. Potentially profitable (a friend was even willing to have me at their table at the local fur con).
