Yay, not alone! ♥ Some of the fanfic is okay. Most of what I come across while browsing the net is sporkworthy, unless I make it a point of going out to look for it.

ZDZISLAW BEKSINSKI! Nothing to say about the secret, except how COOL would it be if Beksinski had his own fandom based on ekphrastic writing? ~~Then I might finally find out how to pronounce his name.~~

Lin from Advance Wars Dark Conflict. And the story sounds pretty darn interesting too!

4. Cosplay is just for fun. I don't see why you would hate it. It isn't harming anyone, really.

6. Sadly enough, I like Harry Potter fanfiction better then the books in many cases. J. K. Rowling is a good storyteller, but her writing and characterization leaves something to be desired. And don't even get me started on her canon pairings... Most of them just made me twitch. I'd stick with fandom any day. But for the record, I did like the first three books a lot. GoF and onward was when it all fell apart.

I agree. It was a good idea, but it could have been executed a lot better. Fandom's great when they don't have something to wank over, then I don't want much to do with them--but this applies to my other fandoms, too. I liked two and three to a point, and some parts of the first one were okay (then ending in particular). GoF and OotP had their moments, but I wasn't impressed over all with the rest of the series.

Unless you're just talking about the Court Records forums; I don't hang around there so I have no idea what the general fan is like on those forums. On LJ though I haven't come across anything scream-worthy. :\

1. I know many people who are convinced that the first Garfield strips were way better than what is produced now. I kinda think they're wrong. It's, really the same thing that it has always been... but that doesn't mean someone can't enjoy it. Don't feel bad. In my opinion... the comic has gotten a little better. I think it was suffering for a while but I believe it's picked up. And besides, you're well within your rights to like it. Don't let others get you down.

6 - lol we have some similar feelings here XD; I never really liked Harry Potter, sold my 5th book so I could grab some Chinese food and own none of them now. But devoted a good amount of fandomtime to it.

sonozaki was just complaining to me a few days ago about how all the potential Aerith RP account usernames were taken so he had to go with "Prayingly". I think most RP accounts have ridiculous usernames.... though I'll agree the "verbing a noun" thing's kind of irritating.

WIN. I loved this video so much, I made the song part of a Master/Lucy Doctor Who fanmix I did a while back. I could totally see them reenacting that on the Valiant. "Dance Commander" was part of my Master fanmix. Electric Six and the Master go together like sex and disco.
