TB 1. HP fandom needs to be introduced to the concept of the non-canon world, it's almost as if it's a crime to ship anything that isn't canon, specially if it is a het pairing.

TB 7. I hate her too, for all the reasons you wrote, I stopped watching the anime until it ends because if Shinichiro ends up with her I'll feel like I wasted my time with it. I did the same with EF because I hated Miyako (adfghbs!), I have no regrets.

I have a friend who thinks the exact same thing, and I totally agree. I could never EVER ship that pairing--it squicks the shit out of me. Hetero lifemates for sure though. XD

I guess this is a little off topic, but man I get sick of people comparing themselves to Seishirou (Subaru, too). Are you a sociopath? Not uncaring, not even "occasionally exhibiting sociopathic tendencies," but someone with a literal lack of empathy, remorse, etc. Who kills people and hurts them without batting an eye.

Yes, it's bad that you treat your friends like that, and there are no doubt a whole lot of issues and things that can be said about that. But just because you're a bitch to your friends doesn't make you "like" that guy. It's like saying that "since I sometimes get sad and feel helpless, I am like Subaru."

And the chemistry between Ianto and Jack is so much more real. Why the hell do people insist on Jack only having chemistry and love interest in one person? This is Jack Harkness people! He can have chemistry and love interest is as many people as he wants.

But the point of the secret is Jack doesn't have chemistry with whatserface who plays Gwen and I totally agree with that. It's a vacuum of sexual tension that gets a bit cringey when they try to play it up.

At no point does the secret mention Jack and Ianto (which to me, is another YMMV ship)

21) Lame as it is, that's part of the reason why I only dabble in Heroes fandom. (I think some article in Entertainment Weekly slipped in some Maya and Alejandro hate, which makes it worse when established publications are in on the bashing, too.) Fandom hates all the characters I like, and after a while the bashing gets really old. The only difference between you and me in this case is that I've always liked Maya better than Peter, even if her potential as a character was horribly misused. Fandom has always overrated Peter, and it doesn't help that the writers fuel the fire by making him this mad-powerful savior figure either.
43) Your King Dedede example reminds me of how for a while every episode of Pokemon with Jinx was skipped over because people said it was a caricature of a black female prostitute. I don't think the character designers in either case intended them to be perceived that way, but I can definitely see where you're coming from with that.

I love that book so much. I've read it more times than I can count.

But.

I think saying it involves "rape" is kind of... a massive understatement? I mean, it involves father/daughter rape leading to a pregnancy. ^^;;;

I have to say I'm not neeeeeeeearly as bad off as you, but the submarine area of FF7 is one of the scariest places in a video game, ever. I can't listen to the song that plays there when it comes up on my playlist. It is partly due to the presence of Emerald, and partly just because the whole underwater deal is creepy as shit.

I was messing around with the debug room on the PC version and there is a kind of glitch where you can wander the underwater area, but instead of the submarine, you're driving the key of the ancients, and you can through walls and go anywhere on the map even though it's all weird looking... all with that creepy music playing. now i can't play through that section without shuddering, because i know there are glitchy, unfinished versions of the rock structure all over the damn map that i can't see.

ohgod i'm rambling but anyway GET SOMEONE ELSE TO PLAY THROUGH THE UNDERWATER FOR YOU so you can finish, because never finishing FF7 is the saddest thing :'(

44. They do have their differences. But yes, they do have their similarities. . .so much so that I think it is a bit strange to absolutely love and hate the other. ( I mean, I really love Soubi but there are things I really don't like about him. )

Also, people might have had Soubi grown on them and they really like him as a character. The thought of him being replaced by Nisei ( who is introduced a bit later ) might be the reason for negative feelings.

As others have said, actors who make it that far must have pretty thick skins. What makes me cringe is the thought of an actor browsing the Web and running across people insulting and vilifying his girlfriend. Even if she's just a beard, you'd think that with the time they spend together they'd become friends, and these "fans" come along and slag his friend? Also, sometimes when an actress/model/etc is vilified like that it has the unintended consequence of portraying the actor as a weak-willed woobie who's being pushed around by his agent/manager and/or being used by his girlfriend/beard, which I think would irritate even those with thick skins.

On the plus side, an actor braving the Web could get the lulz of learning he's astrally dating someone he never even knew existed.

36. I AGREE! I didn't used to, though. In fact, if it hadn't been for that story - which if you ignore that it's completely out of character is a good story - I never would've touched FF7. And I'm grateful to it. But the characterization is crap, and the end takes way too long in coming. However, by the time I realized all this... I'd already recced it to others, and I'm too embarassed to pull it down.
