.... am I the only person alive who thinks Kanda actually DEFIES a bunch of fandom stereotypes you'd commonly find applied to a character like his? I always appreciated him because I though he avoided various cliches and was actually pretty original.

You're definitely not alone. d('.'b ) I don't get a lot of the raving "RAAAWR KANDA HAET" stuff, because when you look past the bitchy loner stuff, he does have a lot of characteristics that make him far from stereotypical, IMO.

I'm afraid I'm one of those who loves it (though even I can see its flaws), but then I do like my massively long fics.

I remember people complaining of it that Cloud would never be so angsty post-game - he wouldn't want to run off and be by himself!

And then Advent Children came out.

Regardless of that, everyone has different tastes... and if your friends don't understand that, they're idiots.

This secret sums up everything I feel about a friend of mine. I love them to bits, but ever since they've gotten into this particular fandom that fandomsecret is popular with, I hear nothing other than how their pairing is so under-appreciated and people hate them on fandomsecrets for loving it.

I haven't seen a single time they've been hated. They victimize themselves and now I don't know how to tell this friend to stop because they annoy others enough with it.

DeviantART doesn't usually care if people trace. They SUCK this way.

It's not even official art that she traces. It's usually fanart by the (almost always because they're the only ones who draw good fanart of this series) Japanese fans that gets whored all over the Internet with no credit to the person who drew it.

Pisses me off that she doesn't even say that it's not her original idea. If she said she copied and/or traced it, it wouldn't make me so MAD. That and she's so popular, like she came up with these ideas HERSELF. She does an okay job and everything, but COME ON.

Gunslinger Girl totally makes you do it - I mean, it's basically canon. D: But it always sounds really bad when you explain it... even though it's totally NOT like fanservicey robot girlfriend shounen anime X.

I love the female cast of Gunslinger Girl more than that of any other anime I've seen, though, and I really do try to convince myself it has nothing to do with them being a bunch of pubescent girls with strange attachments to older men. DX
