62. SO AGREE - I really hate that - I also hate it when they say something like "open for a week, then friends only," as if I should be honored I have the option of seeing it "free" for awhile. I love it when people friend my icon journal, but I don't try to force them into it with something like that.

Er, Kanda's story hasn't been told yet, has it? I haven't kept up with the manga for a couple of months, but if the reason he is the way he is hasn't been revealed yet, I don't think one can say his reasons are unjustified.

Also, he does interact with the other characters, and mostly with Allen, so I don't think being interested in those dynamics is so very strange.

36. I'd be incredibly curious to find out what your favourites are, then. Most of the popular S/C fics have similar length and characterization to ALHR, imo. (I like both, but I can understand, because I've disliked fics before that everyone sung the praises of. To be honest, I like the writing a lot, and at least ALHR!Cloud kicks more ass than the canon AC!Cloud. I like my wangst fests complete with pwning in between wangsting.)

28. I enjoy it, despite having had a pretty happy childhood myself. I don't think having had some severe childhood trauma is a prerequisite for enjoying books in which characters have severe childhood trauma, or there wouldn't be very many books I could enjoy. And I can see why it's your comfort book, rape and all -- I mean, despite the horrible things that happen, it's sort of... low-key. If that makes sense. I don't know. THE POINT IS I don't think you're crazy!

36. Wow, a fic reference I recognise. At times I like Long, Hard Road, and at times the punctuation and formatting really buggers me, and I can't leave out the fact that I started it almost a year ago and still can't finish it. I've got mixed feelings, so I somewhat agree with you. (And still there are other times when I take the 'a' out of 'road' and giggle.)

36. I didn't finish it either. I was really into it until around chapter 27 when I just couldn't take any more of Cloud's uber-wangst. On one level, it really sucked me in and had a lot of tension, and on another level I wonder if the word-count is just plain overkill.

...And I can't believe that I never thought of 'A Long, Hard, Rod', LOL. XD
