11. I PAID FOR MY DVDS AND I'LL SQUEE IF I WANT TO. Not that I'm in the fandom or anything, just discovering it for the first time. I can't help it if I was seven (and easily frightened) when it started airing.

63. Just post your art. Seriously, like someone else a few pages always said, there will always be someone "better" than you. The fandom is big enough that there will always be people who will appreciate what you can create, no matter what it looks like. Besides, seeing something new fan-art wise is always fun. Just take the plunge! :) To put in perspective, you don't see people shying away from posting their fics when there are quite a few amazing fic writers in that side of fandom.

You're right. I have a problem with needing to be "the best" at everything, I'm way too self-critical (see, there I go again). Thank you very much for your comment, I will think about all this and try to kick my attitude into gear. :)

6.) More than you ever wanted to know about American Girl: I believe the Elizabeth doll came out in '05, if I'm remembering correctly. There was much wank in the fandom that they made her blonde when she was a brunette in the original books. And the dolls have changed in appearance (and the fandom will wank over whether it changed in quality at length) since Pleasant Company was sold to Mattel in 1998.

As an oldbie, I feel that the growth of elitism is linked to the growing amount of newbies who write bad fic with bad spelling, bad grammar and bad characterisation. We've got a beta-reader list, and the betareaders don't bite. We're quite friendly and encouraging to new members who will use spellcheck and a beta and don't write about Clarkson calling Hammond his 'little Hamster' in bed in all seriousness.

And a Top Gear community that's news AND slash AND general chatter? Dude, it'd be 100% wank between the male fans, the slashers, and the Hammond Heaven folk. Seriously, it's for the best that the three groups have their seperate hang-outs.

Oh, I love her. But maybe it's because I played the JP version. English version's translations are wonky sometimes, so you get that feeling of punctuated development. Can't blame you.

And it seems you're annoyed that her relationship with the MC came out of the blue. Yes, that's one of the parts P3 never explained so well, which I hope FES can elaborate on. Other media like drama CDs explain some of it too, which, alas, never make it to the English audience.
