15. Oh man, I know. I'm not into girls, but Kimberly was always a hottie. I wanted to be just like her when I grew up. And I wanted her boyfriend too.

40. Not a slasher here, but I must admit, they are a fascinating pair. Munch and Fin are my favorite characters on that show.

62. Not the biggest shipper of them, but they did have a pretty damn tragic love story. The thing about Joss's shows, is that the relationships, all of them, end up appearing so damn epic that it can make you feel like none of our real relationships will ever compare.

40. SVU is made of WIN.

41. Ok, who the hell is the blonde? I've been seeing him everywhere. But Xigbar rocks hardcore.

44. Oh god.

54. Dude, it's called having fun. Who cares if the writing isn't that good; some 'great literature' is fucking boring anyway. Have you read Ulysses? Jesus christ, reading that book is like trying to swim through cement, and it's a famous, famous classic. But I digress. (Oh, and if you're going to start whinging how I have no appreciation of literature or the english language, I managed to come top of the subject two years in a row in my senior years of school, so I do appreciate it. I just like books that are fun, and don't like people who act all elitist. I mean, JK must have been doing something right to earn the billions that she has. So whatever.)

56. I FUCKING APPROVE OF THE FIRST HALF OF THIS SECRET. OP, you rock. Not the second half because I haven't read Twilight and can't judge.

58. EXPLAIN PLZ.

64. YES, MOTHER FUCKING YES. I APPROVE x A MILLION. Whoever the hell you are, you rock for making this secret. I agree with everything in it; I have so much more love for Anastacia now that I'm older. One of the best animated movie's I've ever seen.

37. MANUALLY

32. Cid is manly. The other bishies involved with Final Fantasy can chock on each other's cocks. Fuck, I wanted Balthier to be the main character of FFXII. Maybe then I would want to play it to completion. (Or totally not get stuck in the first airship with only Lvl 10 characters. ¬_¬ )

40. Oi, they just act gay together. In like, a totally manly way. It's weird, I do it subconsciously. (I can never tell my sister, but I'd bet she would agree with me.)

53. It's acceptable. I'm not one for twincest (I actually have a brother, it's kinda squicks me), but hell, twins can be alright.

Uh - if you knew anything at all like possibly read her blog you would know that it's the publishers that more or less decide where the story continues *they MADE her break up Mia and Michael*

And the book was great. And to quote Lily - The monarchy is outdated.
And please remember Mia's only a 17 year old girl. I've known a lot of girls who act half as mature at that age and it was a good move, remember the EU was looking not so favorably on Genovia for not being a democracy.

The country will only be better and besides it's not like the people are going to change the way they run the tourism board that brings in all that revenue. The government not having to pay for all her Grandmother's sidecars would be enough to pay a few more civil servants than already in place.

Remember - how successfully a country runs is based on their bureaucracy. The changes at the top aren't gonna really affect the country guys >.>

If you can't appreciate what she did, I suggest you look closer at her sessions with her therapist and think back about how she previously handled her problems >.>

I can't say I've ever felt the need to ship anything for Black and White/Tekkon Kinkreet (it's too perfect, I don't wanna fuck with it and I don't wanna see anyone else fuck with it), but I will admit that when I first watched the movie I was seeing a shitload of sexual tension between Suzuki and Kimura. Mostly in the very early parts of the movie, though. Like before Kuro scarred Kimura's face early.

Re: 14

(Anonymous) 2008-03-01 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I dont ship Kuro and Shiro sexually, I see it more as sentimental... As for Suzuki and Kimura, it could be sexual or not, yet their mutual respect was being anything including love...

20. The really over-the-top AUs which not only change the setting, but the personalities of everyone involved annoy me too. I always have the feeling that people only do that because it's easier to get readers for fanfiction than for original fiction. Oh well.

56. Sparkly Robert Langdon is a very scary idea.

67. You should write it. If you never show it to anyone, it's still good practice, and you can always change some stuff later so it's less obvious.

You, good sir/madam, deserve a medal.

[identity profile] xanykaos.livejournal.com 2008-03-01 10:17 pm (UTC)(link)
1. I think it takes a special kind of sick to go for Gwen/Rhys. No, wait, that came out wrong. I'm not calling you sick, I'm just saying...I really think their relationship is. And I really do think it's all Gwen's fault, and honestly, it kind of makes me want to cry for Rhys sometimes, to see this normal, incredibly sweet, giving man, trying to understand what his girl's up to and knowing he's being kept in the dark.

I can never really support them after that whole Retcon thing. That was sick. Fantastic characterization and made me realize a whole slew of things about Gwen and how she's not just a surface character. But it was one of the most horrifying, sick things I've seen on Torchwood.

I don't really like any of the ships, but that's because I think they're all truly screwed up people and that none of them are made better by being in a "relationship." Honestly, I think almost all of them are incapable of actually being in one. Except Ianto. I could so easily see him in a real relationship. It's just not going to happen, though.

8. I can't help but feel a little kind of angry about this one. Maybe it's because of how much of an impact that book had on me. Ms. Honey and Matilda spoke as equals, but she was still very much a teacher for Matilda. It's just...it seems like shipping them sexually misses the point or something. I can't really explain it. It's like shipping Sam/Frodo. It may be easy to do, but darn it, you missed the bigger picture.

24. Man, I still crush pretty hard on Jim Carrey.

27. Somewhat inclined to agree. Not quite to that extent, but a bit. I finally get how some people can see it as a little unhealthy (I don't), and I defiantely get that some people prefer not to have mushy-stuff clogging up their sci-fi. And I certainly don't think that you have to believe that Rose is the Doctor's One True Love (because really now...)
But it makes me sad, at least, when people hate the ship, even if they have good reasons. Not angry at whoever dislikes it, just sad in general. Because it's such a sweet ship to me, and especially because she made him happy. She was someone important in his life that he genuinely loved, like so many of his companions.

Though "Why don't you want him to have love?" comes of as a bit teeny-bopper. A) Some people just don't like having a romantic spin on it. It's like finding out your parents are dating again or something. B) Just because some people don't like Doctor/Rose doesn't mean they don't like other ships.
I mean, Doctor/Rose is probably my DW OTP (well, there's one other), but y'gotta be open-minded and all...Especially if you're us, actually...

35. That's horrible. I'm so sorry.

40. I almost do. I'm so close to. My roommies (who are so very into slash, while I'm not at all) wince whenever I mention it. Mostly, I just ship them together in the sense of "Just make it the Munch and Finn show already! I can watch them interact for hours!" But not sexual. I love when the "flirt" though.

[identity profile] graziaplena.livejournal.com 2008-03-01 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)

50. I was a staunch Snape/Lily shipper by the time OoTP came out, and we were all pretty confident about how things had been. But seriously, I kind of agree with you. I'm not as upset, because our theories were vindicated, but I'd read so much fic where he was on the Order's side because he'd honestly chosen good over evil and wanted to save the world or whatever. It made him so noble, all the sacrifices for the cause of good and none of the recognition and all that gear. But when his only reason is kind of repressed and selfish...it makes it a little bit lamer.
DH was just a disappointment.

53. "I just think the bond between Twins is beautiful."
Refer to my response on 8 as far as missing the point goes. You want twins because you think the bond between twins is beautiful (and it is), and to express this, you want them romantically/sexually involved with each other as well.

GOOD GRIEF, FANDOM, WHY MUST EVERYTHING BE ABOUT SEX?!

I leap with joy when I see a good fic/art/anything that understands that there are so many different kinds of love and relationships and that they're all beautiful, and only a scant few of them involve sex!

Ugh.

54. I sobbed for half an hour after Fred's death. I was very excited reading the books, and I love playing in fandom. But by no means are they great literature. As a matter of fact, the last two sucked mightily. You can lose respect for me anyway, though.

63. Oh sweet pants, that's just sad. Post you art, person. Don't worry if you're not good enough or if there's someone better than you. Here's a secret--there always will be. No, I'm not being mean. You could be a bloody professional artist, and there will always be someone better than you. It just works that way. A poser? Because someone else does art of a pairing? And it may or may not be better than yours? No. Lametastic. Just post it and be surprised. Even if people do think you're a poser, you know you're not.

64. I do love that movie. I still feel a bit cheated about Bartok (and how the previews made it look like he was a huge thing, and then, turns out they showed every single one of his lines in the previews). But I do love that movie. I remember it's not Disney, but then I always attribute it to Dreamworks, because they did a lot of my favorite 2D's. Oops.

Exactly. Maybe it was naive to think that JKR was going to make a character she admittedly disliked into the noble man I'd made him. But I suppose that just means I have free reign to use "my" Snape elsewhere.

58. Heh! I've been reading these books since I was a Freshmen in high school (I'm now a Junior in college!) I liked Mia a lot in the first few books, but she matures veryyyyy slowly. Now it's just old. And yet I keep reading, WTF.

42. I'm such a cynic I thought this was a joke at first orz
44. Ouch, that sucks. (Brilliant choice of picture, btw. A+)
50. ME. TOO. THANK YOU.
54. I agree that it's not OMG GREAT LITERATURE (even if a lot of "great" literature really isn't), but the profound emotional effect thing? No. That has nothing to do with the literature part.
56. I don't think either of them's the epitome of the written word (well, I haven't read Twilight), but I am a little flabbergasted by the amount of hate on The DaVinci Code. It's fiction, people -- it doesn't have to be 100% historically accurate, right?
Not!Secret: Ugh. Insert "sexuality has no bearing there, P.S. fuck you" thing I'm too tired to type out here.

[identity profile] dorknessrising.livejournal.com 2008-03-01 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
56. Normally, no, because most authors don't make a point of insisting all their historical facts are accurate. But when they do and hype that aspect up as much as Dan Brown did, and then utterly fail to deliver? That's an entirely different ballgame.
