Okay, that was probably one of the rudest responses I've ever seen. "People like you shouldn't have children"? Really? Hmm, because the fact that she outright said that real life twincest squicks her, yet the fact that she likes fictional twincest means she's so screwed up that she shouldn't reproduce?

Learn a little reading comprehension. Perhaps she phrased it badly, but her two secrets? Seem not as related as they came across. She ships twincest. She wants twins because she loves the close bond between twins, but wouldn't want them incestuous, and real life twinshipping squicks her. Hmmmmmm, you know what? That doesn't seem like she'd be an unfit parent at all!

And one last thing: I knew two girls before, sisters, who were in fact incestuous. Mutually. Neither felt they were being abused or abusive. As near as anyfuckingone could tell, it didn't impact them negatively in any way, not physically, not emotionally, not psychologically, nothing. Just that they loved each other romantically as well as familially, neither being too much more important than the other, and they had sex. Big whoop.

Incest ≠ abuse automatically like that, either. Incest = incest, abuse = abuse. It depends on how well people can mentally and emotionally deal with different kinds of love, affection, and connection; in addition, the taboo on incest only extends as far as IMMEDIATE family, and stems from the fact that the children resulting from sex between people who are too-closely related have a very high chance of suffering from birth defects and problems.

18. It's not because it's HET. It's because Gwen is a STUPID CHARACTER. I'm a Ianto/Jack shipper, okay, but if Tosh was getting it off with Jack? Or Martha? That'd be fine. I'd enjoy it. But Gwen is a flat character bordering on the Mary Sue and the actors have no chemistry whatsoever. That's why I hate. That's why, I think, most of us hate it.

54. Listen, whoever posted 54: I know a lot of people who like to hold that opinion about the Harry Potter series. Truth is, I started reading those books when I was 11. I grew up with them. They're an integral part of my childhood. And they represent to me what, say, the Star Wars movies represent to Gen Xers. This doesn't mean that I can't give you a literary run down of James Joyce. So stop being a patronizing jackass and think of the cultural implications of certain media phenomena before you cast judgment.

64. Don Bluth was in charge of the Disney animation studio once upon a time, so frankly, giving credit to Disney for the Fox movies probably isn't too far off. They're basically Disney movies already- just as saccharine and just as historically inacurate. Animation is ACE though. :)

I don't know why people instantly assume they know why someone else doesn't like a paring. I think Gwen is kind of a self-serving psycho-bitch. Do you see the way see treats Rhys? She's a bitch, a crazy bitch, and even Jack isn't so hormonal he'd think she was the "pure soul" to fall for. Gwen is so badly and unbelievably written and imbalanced.

27. I don't think that was the point of the secret at all. Maybe it was, but I thought she meant more like "This is something that made the Doctor happy, and it upsets me when people hate it so much." The Doctor doesn't need a love interest to be complete. He doesn't even need a companion to be a complete person. But darn it, he's quite happy when he has such things.

50/54 - yeah.... JK actually knew NONE of her characters very well. I don't give a shit if they were her characters and she could do what she liked with them - each one was a cop out in the end, and nothing like they should have been. Which also ties in with 54, because whilst losing respect for someone just because they think HP is the best thing ever is rather pathetic, JKs writing *is* horrible! I'm no English expert, but some of her sentence structures make me cringe, bigtime. Its a shame, as it is a brilliant story/idea underneath all of that, in the hands of someone else....

(but I still like Harry Potter. So there)

JKR had a great idea, but she didn't have the writing skills to really take the series where it could have gone. If she'd teamed up and coauthored those books with someone who had a good technical writing skill, the Harry Potter series would be bloody brilliant.

Personally, it made me kind of sad to read the last few books in the series -- all that potential for awesomeness just got wasted.
