27. Wow, and you have to post two secrets about it?

32 & 34. LOL, attack of the anti-Sylar-fangirls.

45. To me, it's scary that fandom is turning into religion. Religion is there first anyway. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being religious as long as you're not too fanatic.

[identity profile] lashiec.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
37. That was easy to see coming, since the secret was kinda ugly.

61. WAY TOO FUCKING SKINNY. Wow, I agree. Some bunk in the trunk is nice, seriously.

35

[identity profile] speaky-bean.livejournal.com 2008-03-04 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
I can think of a couple of reasons why someone might proclaim that. Maybe they JUST go to the point where they were fluent, and they were really proud of themselves? Or, from a more practical perspective, maybe they're indicating that they know Japanese, so they can translate things if you ask, or they have some things that they're translating.

It's bragging, but people brag about things that are true, too.

19. OH GOD I see that animation everywhere and it is always so fucking disturbing I can't look his EYEBALLS oh god!

23. I WANT AN ARMY OF HAROS. It's impossible not to squee when you see Haro. I can't wait for my Haro (http://www.toyslogic.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=588_215_51&products_id=2809) to arrive. I close all my entries with Haro because he cheers me up no matter how down I am.

35. Because talking about your hobbies in your userinfo is lame. *rolls eyes*

40. Fandom makes smoking so hot. Gah. But I can't stand it IRL.

52. Screw her. Someone like that is not your friend.

45. You wouldn't be the first.

47. I'm pretty shy in fandom too, but ironically enough Ace Attorney fandom has helped me come out of my shell somewhat. I wish I could be more outgoing, though, because my f-list is microscopic.

66. Ha, my favorites PW get shipped around like crazy in my mind (sorry Iris, I know you'd be less than thrilled with being the fandom bicycle; at least you don't have it as bad as your sister)

13.) I really would suggest leaving. I know if you've been in an RP for a long time, you get attached to it and the players, and if someone's getting on your nerves, you feel like you don't want them to force you out, but really, an environment like that isn't good. I hope you can find a better, stress-free situation. ♥

16.) Well, both her adult and kid forms have their own charms! Although personally, I think I do like her as an adult a lot better.

21.) OHGOD ME TOO. I was afraid of spiders before the book and movie, but a;lksdj they definitely made it worse sob

38.) That's a lot like how I feel, too. o/

48.) I know how you feel! I don't comment in comms anonymously, but I'm always worried that I'll say the wrong thing and people who I don't even know will start to dislike me because of it.

66.) Aha, I feel the same way. I don't have an OTP for the PW series, though, just because sob I have a lot of love for various pairings, whoo. Gumshoe/Maggey is really cute, though, and it's nice to see them getting some love!

13 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-03-05 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, only thing is I don't really have anywhere else to go. I like the people in the RP except for this person... so it's easier to just ignore her.

(Anonymous) 2008-03-05 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
I REMEMBER THAT VAGINA! :O

[identity profile] sankakukoen.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
35) I find the people who speak the best Japanese I know would never even claim to be fluent. My Japanese is intermediate (JLPT 2-kyuish), and I have friends here who have kicked 1-kyus ass, rocked the JETRO, read novels, converse at native speed without a hitch, and still don't consider themselves fluent (I consider them fluent XD but it seems the better you get, the more you realize the gap between yourself and a native speaker). So yeah. Most people who are shit-hot at Japanese are not proclaiming it to the world, they are trying to figure out how to get even better.

[identity profile] powercorrupts.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
23. I'd take even a bad haro. Sure, the last thing I need is something that will ENCOURAGE me when I'm about to shank a bitch... but it would still be amazing.

32. Unrelated, but for a second I thought that was supposed to be the Geass from Code Geass. I was all "oh shit, Sylar with a Geass would amazing and terrible at the same time." And then I realized that you meant something else and was actually a little relieved.

[identity profile] pimmy.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
35. If I finally got fluent in japanese i'd definitely flaunt it! not cus i want attention or anything... but when to most people in the anime fandom, japanese is like a special skill! if i just...didnt say anything about it, i dont know, that attitude feels unnaproachable! if i were like "eh yeh, i can speak it" then it seems very... like people would feel like they can't ask me for japanese help or something because im so quiet about it. theyd think "oh dear, she doesnt really like to talk about it huh? she must be one of those stuck up people."

i dont know, im rambling. your attitude jsut seems... off. i dont think theyre proclaiming it to the world, its more like "yeah this is one of my skills" like saying "oh hay i can bake and speak japanese and my favorite color is purple!"

i dont know. people who dont talk about themselves wierd me out.

[identity profile] xreddestinyx.livejournal.com 2008-03-05 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
I feel the same way. I don't like those people who say NOTHING about themselves online. And it's getting more and more common. Just because it's the internet doesn't mean we're not human! We don't exist to be sniggering cat macro machines in the real world, so why STRIVE to have no identity online?

RANTING YEAH.

10. Actually, someone I know has already written some AnonymousxScientology ficcage here (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomsecrets/134180.html?thread=39031076#t39031076) as a result of an earlier f-secret. This pairing totally needs more love. >XPP

8. I mostly agree. Although I can see some pairings working, depending on how he eventually grows up. But yes, he'd make a great papa. His kids would get away with beating him up but he'd still love them.

16. No you're not the only one. I think the whole let's-scare-Ichigo-with-boobs running gag got old after Yoruichi did it the second time. :/

(Anonymous) 2008-03-05 02:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Why else was he so pissed about Eli's "You've abandoned your child" and his competitor's "spend more time with your kid" thing? It hit where it hurt, because Plainview did feel bad about sending HW away to school. And that's why got him back and had him home-schooled.

HW is the only person in the movie who is loved by Plainview. And that's why the flash-forward is important. It just doesn't show Plainview as a murderer (that would be repetitive), it shows his tragedy.

He drives the only person he loves and kills the only person he still wants to exact revenge upon. And once he accomplished that, he severed all of his emotional connections to the world.

He's finished as a human being.

16. I liked her better as a toddler too.

27. Remus/Sirius isn't canon?! OH BOO-HOO. Get over it.

35. That is a huge clue in knowing if they're legit. I know of a guy on DA who constantly whines about people not believing he's Japanese (with his horrible babel fish English to Japanese translations and pictures obviously showing his caucasian-ness). Not only that, but if you call them out, they cry like there's no tomorrow. They just keep telling themselves so they can be delusional enough to believe it. Very sad.

53. I was very glad that she ended up with the kid in the end. She really did deserve it after being betrayed like that. :(

Hero-worship's only going to get in your way. WRITE THE FUCKING THING. Hell no it's not going to sell as many copies as HP, but what if it's...*gasp*...a good book anyway?

Gah. I'm sure you're a lovely person, but your priorities are seriously screwed up. JKR as a person has about as much to do with your book as Dick Cheney.

32. MOREOVER all the "Things I want to do to Sylar" secrets were from the same person. They've got the exact same font and formatting and everything and there's a jillion of them, it's sort of sad.

7. The manga was created by a woman, it's only the anime that was directed by a man. Anyway, you don't have to be female to be a feminist. And I agree with you, Utena is one of the most inspiring series I've ever had the pleasure to watch. I'm glad you took away something so positive from it.

I was always under the impression that the Yamainu quietly offed her afterwards, though, and she got just as pathetic an end as she almost did in Matsuribayashi. By "win", I meant win and live.
