Non-fandom Secrets

For all your non-fandom secrets.

I'm very-anti Tabloid. I'm also very-anti leaking photos of celebrities without their permission. Yet I still looked at those Orlando Bloom pictures. If he was a woman, I probably would have been extremely offended. I know I'm an awful person. But he's so hot. I felt so dirty after looking at them and still do.

You're a hypocrite.

I perved out like crazy over Orly's naked body, and I do not feel dirty at all. I also don't feel dirty when I perv out over female celebrity's bodies. I'm a human being with innate curiosity and a sex drive FFS.

More like no impulse control.

Impulse control? You mean repression?

OK, Puritan, hope that works out well for you in the long run.

If your job's contact information is readily available online, I don't have a problem with doxxing if you're being racist.

Any hunting down is a case by case basis.

[sorry if this posts twice]

If you mean someone is being racist in a professional sense and you're calling them and their business out for it, that's not so bad.

If you mean someone is being racist in fandom and you're hunting down their real name and occupation so you can post their phone number and work address so people can harass them, that's pretty bad.

Re: Non-fandom Secrets

(Anonymous) 2016-08-05 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely the first option. Especially in cases where a white woman made racist remarks against african americans and was a home loan officer or something.

You can do what you want on your private time on your twitter but just realize it's public.

I never thought I'd see a day when the left - THE LEFT!! - considered doxxing fair play.

Very disheartening.

mte. it is wrong and disgusting, no matter whether or not someone "deserves" it.

DA

If I'm an employer and one of my employees who is supposed to represent me and my business is posting white power memes on their facebook or something, I'd damn well want to know.

I think maybe doxxing was the wrong word, because it seems anon means more "see the person works for such and such a business and reports it." AFAIK doxxing is more like hacking/stalking.

during the last few months i've bought three different vibrators (2 little vaginal ones, 1 clitoral) and i'm really satified of them and with myself. i also have an ex-vibrator now turned dildo because the battery don't function anymore and i feel like starting a collection! i'm probably buying a rabbit next, but the ones i like are pricey... (suggestions, pretty please?)

sometimes though i think that owning so many sex toys is a little strange and a waste of money. idek, I LOVE MY TOYS, but i feel like i should be ashamed of buying them. ...i ain't.
one time i even bought one while in company of three male friends. i just don't give a single fuck anymore. i think that EVERYONE, of every sex and gender, should own at least one sex toy during their life and not be ashamed of it. life is too short not to freely explore our sexuality!

(PS: i'm virgin lmao)

I'm not ashamed either. The rechargeable vibrator I got because I was tired of dealing with replacing batteries is one of the better purchases I've made.

Re: Non-fandom Secrets

(Anonymous) 2016-08-05 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
You might be the perfect person to ask this: how do you choose your first one? I'm a virgin too but interested in exploring what I like, but the advice all those sites give is to think back to a previous toy or penis you enjoyed. Not helpful! I honestly have no clue where to start, except that I don't want to spend too much money and it should be easy to maintain.

Do you read the webcomic Oh Joy Sex Toy? The author gives solid reviews and recommendations if you're looking for new toys.

Don't worry about having too many anon, I have waaaaay more than you. Sex toys are nice.

Never be ashamed of having sex toys. Ever.

5/10

You are either a great dick or a moderately competent troll. I was only going to give you 5 points, but people seem to be taking you seriously... Nope, 5/10. I don't like you.

I have myself convinced I'm socially awkward, and I feel like I just make things worse by trying not to be awkward, instead of just being a normal person.

I don't even know what normal is anymore, though? Talking about my kids? Trouble is, I don't have any, so that's out...

Re: Non-fandom Secrets

[personal profile] caerbannog 2016-08-06 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
There is no real normal, just be yourself. Everyone is socially awkward sometimes (some days more than others), or loses their temper, or puts their foot in their mouth. Not everyone gets along.

The key is to try not to linger over things for too long. Let conversations change, sometimes listening and sometimes talking. Asking questions here and there are a great icebreaker and takes the pressure off you. Ask how the weekend was, try and remember something in their life to ask about.

For example, on Mondays I always ask all my coworkers how their weekend was. One I will specifically ask about her cats, the other his rennovations, the other what sports he did, another how her newborn is going. They all usually ask me about my dog or my house. If I don't feel like talking about either I'll just shrug with an "yeah it was alright, hey did you read X in the news/new book/ask about work"

It takes practice anon, but I promise you. There is no strict normal. It's a VERY wide definition and you're probably falling into the scale of normal somewhere, most of the time.

Mostly, practice makes perfect as you get better at recognising when you're being rude or pushy or ignoring someone's boundaries. Apologise and move on. You can do it :)

It's not really fandom so...
I absolutely hate the "(something something) keeps my skin clear. my crops watered. my children fed" meme and resent anyone who uses it because it keeps reminding me of my bad acne.
