If your job's contact information is readily available online, I don't have a problem with doxxing if you're being racist.

Any hunting down is a case by case basis.

[sorry if this posts twice]

If you mean someone is being racist in a professional sense and you're calling them and their business out for it, that's not so bad.

If you mean someone is being racist in fandom and you're hunting down their real name and occupation so you can post their phone number and work address so people can harass them, that's pretty bad.

(Anonymous) 2016-08-05 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely the first option. Especially in cases where a white woman made racist remarks against african americans and was a home loan officer or something.

You can do what you want on your private time on your twitter but just realize it's public.

Oh yes then I don't have much issue with that. When you have your job linked to your social media and you are representing them in that way, your employer deserves to know to fire you also since you're making them look terrible.

I wish I'd done that once. The person worked for the organization I do, but a different branch, and made a cruel joke about her clients. With a JK, but still. Way to make us all look like shit. Not to mention seriously offending her clients.

The only reason I didn't report it was because my boss told me not to bother. Turns out she'd misunderstood and thought I didn't know which branch the lovely person worked at (once she realized I did, she was all for reporting it), and by then the person had removed the comment. It's possible they got caught by someone else, though.

I never thought I'd see a day when the left - THE LEFT!! - considered doxxing fair play.

Very disheartening.

mte. it is wrong and disgusting, no matter whether or not someone "deserves" it.

DA

If I'm an employer and one of my employees who is supposed to represent me and my business is posting white power memes on their facebook or something, I'd damn well want to know.

nayrt but employees represent you when they are being associated with your name (at work, in uniform, etc). They do not represent you on their own personal time.

I can see setting this kind of precedent leading to all sorts of problems though.

I think maybe doxxing was the wrong word, because it seems anon means more "see the person works for such and such a business and reports it." AFAIK doxxing is more like hacking/stalking.

Yeah if it's reported to the person's employer it's...really not doxxing? Especially if they're employment info was posted in public to begin with?

Re: Non-fandom Secrets

Yeah, I do. I'm not out at work. I work in education in a country where that is still considered a problem. I can't support handing more power over to employers; it's not like employers can never be the discriminatory dicks and the employees the vulnerable parties or anything.

during the last few months i've bought three different vibrators (2 little vaginal ones, 1 clitoral) and i'm really satified of them and with myself. i also have an ex-vibrator now turned dildo because the battery don't function anymore and i feel like starting a collection! i'm probably buying a rabbit next, but the ones i like are pricey... (suggestions, pretty please?)

sometimes though i think that owning so many sex toys is a little strange and a waste of money. idek, I LOVE MY TOYS, but i feel like i should be ashamed of buying them. ...i ain't.
one time i even bought one while in company of three male friends. i just don't give a single fuck anymore. i think that EVERYONE, of every sex and gender, should own at least one sex toy during their life and not be ashamed of it. life is too short not to freely explore our sexuality!

(PS: i'm virgin lmao)

I'm not ashamed either. The rechargeable vibrator I got because I was tired of dealing with replacing batteries is one of the better purchases I've made.

Re: Non-fandom Secrets

(Anonymous) 2016-08-05 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
You might be the perfect person to ask this: how do you choose your first one? I'm a virgin too but interested in exploring what I like, but the advice all those sites give is to think back to a previous toy or penis you enjoyed. Not helpful! I honestly have no clue where to start, except that I don't want to spend too much money and it should be easy to maintain.

Re: Non-fandom Secrets

(Anonymous) 2016-08-06 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
nayrt but I bought a bunch of toys when i was a virgin and basically my opinion: think about how you masturbate. Do you like penetration? Do you like clitoral stimulation? Both? Which do you want to use the toy for? Do you want vibrations at all? Look at reviews and product descriptions. Personally I think a generic bullet vibrator is a good first toy to get you used to vibrations, but its up to you and what you like.

Also things to keep in mind: get things that are body safe. Jelly toys are not safe at all, and TPR is porous and can absorb bacteria and moisture. Safe things include hard plastic, silicone, glass, metal, etc

Do you read the webcomic Oh Joy Sex Toy? The author gives solid reviews and recommendations if you're looking for new toys.

Don't worry about having too many anon, I have waaaaay more than you. Sex toys are nice.

Never be ashamed of having sex toys. Ever.

You are either a great dick or a moderately competent troll. I was only going to give you 5 points, but people seem to be taking you seriously... Nope, 5/10. I don't like you.
