47: No, I think people are just arseholes. I played the game (obsessively) when it was first released, loved AC, and like what I've played of CC so far (haven't had time for the rest yet). I do think it's possible to appreciate the good things about the compilation and (rationally) criticise it.

67: It's not as if a lot of yaoi fans haven't seen most (or all, or some) of those films, or read those books; we just like the difference of reading a regular story with same-sex pairings. A story where love, or adventure, or a murder mystery, or a gost story or whatever is the main focus, not the apparently aall-encompassing tragedy of homosexuality. It doesn't exist in published media.

I sometimes think that this is the most common denominator in the yaoi/slash fandom.

Knowing nothing of the series, just juding from the picture, I can say that's definitely how a girl might LOOK.

15. The hell? Kamina has fans because he's brave to the point of stupidity, not to mention mindlessly gung-ho about everything. That doesn't mean he's "perfect" at all, or whatever Gary Stu connotations you're pinning on him.
If anything, Kamina is a major support character, as a catalyst to Simon's growth.

5. I dunno, if I ever managed to write something that got a fandom, I think I'd find all of that more amusing than anyone else. If I ever saw it, anyway, since authors aren't supposed to read fanfic of their own works for legal reasons.

It's also useful for finding other fans in small fandoms, believe it or not. Memes and being part of a community of dumb assholes is secondary or not important at all to a lot of us, obviously we're just not as vocal about it. I understand your annoyance with the spread of memes, though.
